Hi All
We're back from our week up the coast - pity it poured with rain for half of it, but the kids had a great time. What was the saddest of all was the fact that none of it came within a bull's roar (for me) of our trip to DL last year. I fear nothing else may ever meet my very high expectations now
This thread sure has taken off since I last posted ! Just a bugger I'll still be the only one posting in it in another 18 months' time
I've really only skimmed the messages - I'll try and get through them in more detail over the next few days.
Someone asked about the weather we had when we were there in late Sept./early October last year. Two words - dry and hot. I'm talking 40C hot. Didn't feel like it to us, though, as we're used to humid Sydney heat. We were functioning quite well. We had no rain whatsoever.
We stayed at the Residence Inn Maingate first, and walked to the parks every day, twice a day. The second part of our stay was in a 2br suite with concierge at the DLH. We hope to get the same room when we go back at the end of next year.
As for our input on restaurants - we ate at Ralph Brennans (on your recommendation, Bec), Blue Ribbon Bakery, Cafe Orleans, Goofy's Kitchen, and Stage Door Cafe. I did have a PS for Blue Bayou, but on the day, it was too early (11.30am) and too hot to be eating such stodgy food, so we let the PS go.
Most days we went back to the hotel for lunch, and since breakfast was included in the room rates, we had no need to spend much money on food in the parks. I did get to try most of the food I wanted to, including those Tigger tails, french onion soup, and those delicious french fries
The swine flu doesn't worry us too much - we have our own supply of Tamiflu, due to the line of work my DH is in.
If there are any other questions I can help someone with, please let me know - I plan on asking dozens from the experts on the WDW and Disney cruise boards !
Cheers,
Sally
