Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

I'm dreading going through customs in Sydney - Border Security is giving me nightmares (please don't let us get stuck behind one of the loonies they show on tv!)

Sydney is the easy one !! Wait till you get through LAX on your return - now that is a nightmare give yourselves lots of time.

Have a greta time all leaving in the next few days

LAX seemed to be a huge mess last time we were there. Is is still a shambles? We had to carry our cases between the counters, then go up stairs, around all these lines. So much fun...

:lmao: I don't worry about Sydney customs because it is the end of the trip...I can't get much more tired...I look exactly like my passport photo...and it will always be a mess.

Last time we went through Customs at Sydney I saw one of the guys that appears on Border Security. Nice guy.
It is a MESS once you get to the customs hall. There are people all over the place with trolleys and random "queues" milling about aiming for a small gap in the wall.
And to top it all off we arrived back in Sydney on one of those glorious 42degree 80% humidity days:headache:

I agree...LAX is the worst one though.

Just a quick update from Disneyland!

The parks have been extremely busy the last couple of days. Last night ( Friday) the gridlock of people trying to get through New Orleans square past the Rivers of America was scary. This was about half an hour prior to the first showing of Fantasmic. They ended up scheduling a third showing of Fantasmic - which indicates massive crowds.

We left the park about 9pm and they had crowd control running one way traffic up each side of Main street and around the hub because the place was absolutely packed with people witing for the Fireworks.

However, the mornings have been just fine. We had our Magic Morning yesterday and it was great - we did so much in that first hour. Today we were there at normal park openning and we still got onto heaps of rides with minimla waiting - we hoard Fastpasses for later in the day - yesterday evening we had 6 sets of Fastpasses. It was so nice to walk past the crowds at Space Mountain who had a 120minute wait - we were on the ride in 10 mins :-)

It has also been extremely hot the last few days - such a shock to us after coming from the snows of Montana and Wyoming! We've found it best to do the parks early, come back after an early lunch and swim. Then go back when it starts to cool off around 5pm.

I've really enjoyed seeing the changes since our last trip, and the Halloween decorations are lovely.

Bye for now
Andona

We leave for the airport in 2 hours....I'm here twiddling my thumbs until then. DH has banned me from repacking and stuff yet again :rolleyes1

Hi Andona, so glad the mornings aren't too bad. That crowd sounds scary crowded.

Have a great flight Flea. I am sooooooooooooo jealous

Yay! Maybe go and check out disneygeek.com to see if there's any new photos. that might pass a little bit of time ;)

Thanks for the update Andona (though I'm not sure I wanted to hear that info...) Hope you are having fun.

We are planning to avoid DL on the Fri and Sat we are there. It wouldn't be much fun with the kids in that.

We are down to the final countdown!!! 1 week to go... YAY!!!:cool1:

Have fun Flea... Sure you will

I am stuck on which pass to get, the 14 day or the 5 day, we will be staying at PPH for 7 nights (this entitles us to MM when available, yes?)
For the extra cost should I just get the 14 day?? It's about $18

I've just been down to the shop and got a few things to put in the suitcase, new toiletries and comfy new socks LOL

2 Weeks to go!!

I'm pretty sure from my readings that staying at PP would get you MM each day.

I'm thinking that it would be worth getting the 14 day pass - that will give you up to an extra 3 days - ie, you have 7 nights, 8 days in the park area including arrival and departure day. That way if you wanted just 1/2 hour to do something you could without wasting a day.

My 2c - have you paid for your accom yet, or did you book directly with PP?? If you booked directly it might be worth finding out what the AP rate is and getting an Annual Pass for one of you.

We booked through Expedia so I don't think there is any extra belefit there, is there?

We are going with the 14day just so we don't have to worry about things.
Knowing that if you miss out on something one day you can duck in if only for a few hours to do it is a good feeling. Grabbing just that extra ride on a favourite ride, getting an extra photo with a character...
Knowing you can do this with ease is good. It is more relaxing to spread things out. You can even do a MM and get all the fantasyland rides done, and then leave the park after that and go and do something else for the day.

As I understand the rules currently you do get MM whenever it is available during your stay on property. You show your room key. (it is only 3 or 4 days a week)

We're there for 10 days and we're buying the 14 day passes. I say buy it. Even if you just want to pop in to see the fireworks one night. It's only $18.

Definitely get the 14 day pass, even if you want to go back in to see/ride just one thing it will be worth it (and even more so if these huge crowds keep up!)

I would also recommend getting the 14 day pass. It will allow you to back and forth as much as you want. So if you miss something you can easily go back.

Hey everyone, our very own Australia section has been created. It's in the newish global section. :cheer2:
