Aurora's New Look Debuts at Walt Disney World

Much more flattering picture.

That doesn't even look like the same person or wig. In fact, hair is parted on opposite side in this picture. Unless one of the pictures have been reversed. I don't see the dimple either.

It isn't the same person. It must be an Aurora at D-land or Epcot.

Poor princess! She might not look very much like Aurora but no need to be mean!!

Now, as for the change, I think the dress looks OK but the hair just looks odd. I would like to see what the new Aurora costumes look like, I have seen the Belle and Cinderella versions and to me they look very cheap and nasty, a huge disappointment. So far I will be buying my DD's costumes outside of the parks this time round. I did notice that Ariel is wearing a pink dress in all the new princess merchandise, does anyone know if this will replace the pale green version currently in the parks?

Now this is beautiful! I definitely think she made a new friend between those pics, but it could've just been an unflattering lighting/moment with her other one.

I like this dress much better, I've always thought the old one made even the smallest of her friends look stuffed/bloated.

It doesn't look very regal to me (like something's missing) and I'm not sure how I like the change of collar since it now looks a bit inaccurate, but still it's more flattering IMO

Very doubtful. Too many would confuse her with Aurora.

It's the wig. It's the Aurora wig!!! THAT is what makes these ladies look weird. I'm telling you. I kept frantically point it out to DH every time we say one. I don't know what in the world is happening there but it's very odd looking.

I, for one, actually like the new dress. It looks more functional for the CM as well.

Speaking of dresses...

This may have been asked in some thread at some point but - why were these 3 the only ones to get re-vamped? Don't get me wrong, they should stop, but I was just wondering why just 3.

All of them are getting revamped.

The hair is a mess, but the dress is ok. Now the person portraying Aurora is not a good fit. Too old and off character. DH saw it and said it must be a WDW princess- we seem to see less than flattering ones there compared to DL.

Not trying to bash her, but she doesnt look magical. We have always felt that the princesses at D'land are so much prettier that WDW (More aspiring actresses I guess). Our last visit to WDW Ariel at Alkershur was Asian.

The smile looks forced in the first photos. I think that is what throws people off.

Perhaps they just need higher standards for each character? The Aurora pictured in the blue dress fits the role to a t.

That is a good point! I have never even thought that there would be aspiring actresses in Anaheim. It totally makes sense they would becoming a princess!

I agree- a lot of the princesses at Disney World are not that pretty. Belle is the exception I think.

My daughter says she could do a better job hemming that new gown than Disney did. Maybe they'd let her try? ;) (On that original post the lining layer hangs longer than the outer layer, and it puckers where they hemmed it.). But then I'm a sewing snob. :snooty:
