For anyone who has Aurora, Cinderella or Snow White as their favorite character or for anyone who has kids and one of those 3 are their favorites... I am just curious...why? They don't really...do...anything.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Really? :confused3 Why shouldn't they be? What don't they do that you think they should? :confused3

cinderella was/is my daughter's favorite because when she was younger (well, she is 5 now, so still young, but 3 or so) the movie wasn't as scary to her as many of the other princess movies. she fell in love with cinderella and could watch it over and over and over

Well, neither are my favorite, but I could see why they could be someone else's.
Cinderell has a pumpkin turned into a stage coach, she wears glass slippers. The animals love her and make a dress for her. And then she marries a prince.

Snow White has an evil stepmother that tricks her into a poisonous apple. She lives with 7 funny looking little men. She is awaken by true loves's kiss

Sleeping Beauty has a spell put on her and has to live away from her parents for 16 years. She lives with fairies. She thinsk she is singing alone when she hears a handsome voice. The evil malificent turns into the drago and the man that loves her fights to save her

What, exactly, do character's have to do for us to fall in love with them?

Snow White is and always will be my favorite, not simply Disney Princess, but Disney movie of all time. Partly because of it's "the one that started them all" and what it meant for the motion-picture industry, but mostly because of the associations that I have with it. It is the first Disney film I ever saw, I loved to see a character with brown eyes (because I always felt singled out as the only one in a house of blue-eyed people), I felt connected in the step-parenthood (not that my step-father is - or ever was - evil, but as a kid I sure thought so often enough), and I have very fond memories of singing the songs with my grandmother. I could go on, but it holds a very special place in my heart for many reasons.

My dd favorite right now is Cinderella, because she looks most like her (blonde hair blue eyes.) My favorite is/always has been Belle, although I'm not sure what she "does" that the other don't:confused3

I've always loved the Disney Cinderella movie. She has cool pet mice that help her sew. She has a Fairy Godmother looking out for her. Pumpkins turn into magical coaches. She has a glass slipper that fits only her. And of course, she gets her prince and lives happily ever after away from that wicked step-family. Yes, today's more modern princesses are more independent and all, but they still want their man. Surely you're not too jaded as to enjoy a classic fairy tale?

It's every little girls dream to be like a Disney Princess. My favorite Disney character is Princess Aurora, thats the princess I wanted to be when I was little. They don't have to do anything but be beautiful princesses, they are just magical characters that every little girls falls in love with, what's not to love? :cutie:

DD loves Sleeping Beauty because she wears pink. That's all that matters. :thumbsup2

That was my daughter's logic as well. In fact, she was afraid of parts of the movie so we'd have to fast forward through them, but she just loved that pink dress!

Now I think she has a few favorite princesses based more on their personalities, or something like that, but I have lost track.

Aurora's blue dress and crown are my faves.

That is all.

When DD was younger her favorite was Cinderella. And for those that have DDs, you know there is a princess pecking order! DD loved Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Snow White and then Aurora. Not quite sure the logic but we definitely had a pecking order. :goodvibes

Now that she is older, we love Tinkerbell and Tiana. And there is no reason to love them either really. They are cartoon characters. There doesn't need to be any logic to it. :thumbsup2

Rags to riches (well, I guess technically riches to rags to riches in all three cases)...it's a popular fantasy. Little (and grown) girls love to think that "someday my prince will come," and they will know "(so) this is love" when they finally meet the one they danced with "once upon a dream." A gal doesn't have to be a heroine to be a fave.

I love Snow White!

Gotta love the logic of small children.:)

DD is obsessed with pink. Well obsessed isn't even a strong enough word to describe our world. LOL
She has to have something pink on every day, thank goodness for pink crocs!

I love Aurora. I don't really even like the movie, but she is my favorite Princess and I see her every trip!! :goodvibes

My daughter's favorite color is pink, but she expanded to blue because of Cinderella.

We love Cinderella because even though she has to work so hard for people who aren't nice, she still finds a way to stay happy. She digs deep! It's all about attitude. I use her as an example for my daughter all the time. :goodvibes

My DNiece4 used to love Cinderella until last year when all of a sudden she switched to Snow White. We have no idea where this came from since she hadn't even seen the movie yet. She even says that she is changing her name from Shayla Susan ____________to Snow White Susan________:lmao: Lately she is talking a lot about Ariel so maybe she is switching again. In a way I hope she stays with Snow White at least until after our trip in June as we have reservations at BBB and she already has a Snow White dress.

I guess that's a legit reason to like Cinderella. She did have to go through some hard times.

Why? Well, they are pretty, they wear pretty dresses, they are soooo nice and never get angry no matter what, they sing beautifully,... and because they are each so good, their goodness rose above the terrible troubles caused by the envy around them.

Maddle

PS - it doesn't hurt that they married handsome men who truly loved them.
