aulani successful booking 7mos window or less

we are lookin to book aulani from dec 13 for at least 1 week studio ocean view
i'd love to hear from those dvc owners (non home resort for aulani) that were actually able to book within the 7 mos window or less

We booked a week for over Memorial Day weekend at 6.5 no problem. You could have issues towards the end of your week with Christmas arrivals coming in but I'd thing the early part should be ok

Availability at any resort can change overnight. There are many factors that determine trends and changes in the past and future availability.

Most of the WDW December dates are taken and many here on the DIS are reporting that they never had any trouble booking in the past.

As the economy shifts and additional owners are added, booking will get more difficult at 7 months out. At Aulani, not all of the rooms are declared for DVC use yet so that may also have an impact.

I booked a mothers day weekend in march for a garden view. I would say for Hawaii, our slower months are in the fall, Jan,feb and may. This is, true for most of the Hawaii resorts not just aulani.

We just booked an island view studio for 7 days starting on Thanksgiving day with no problem. All studio categories were and I believe are still available. I would think you have a good chance for a December week since it is before the Christmas rush. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

I have just finished booking 6 nights in an OV stu for July 26 - Aug 1. It took about 4 weeks,3 nights then 2 night on the end then just 2 days ago I added the 26th to the trip. MS combined all these reservations into one confirmation number. So it can be done. Just grab what you can and keep looking.

we got 10 days no problem last year for an April trip with less than 7 mos, I think it was about 6 mos pre trip; but we got an island view.

We booked as soon as we could but were able to get a 1 bdrm, OV, for June 26-July 5 (9 nights--so calling to add the additional days). I'm not sure if all views were available, but we didn't have a problem.

I had a hard time booking for June. I couldn't get all the nights I wanted so staying in Waikiki the first 3 nights which worked out fine. We can do touristy stuff than relax.

We booked as soon as we were able to for end of August. I had no problem with any availability. I think early August was more difficult, however, since I had been keeping an eye on it for a few weeks.

We booked for November at 7 months, no trouble but the standard view rooms go the fastest, so if you are after Ocean View you should have no problem unless you are going during a peak time.

I was able to book a 2 Bedroom (dedicated) at Aulani with no problem at the 7 month window for December 2013. (Mind you, I was online at exactly 8am). Good luck!!
