Reading another Aulani thread brought up a questions. I believe the subsidy transfers with a resale contract from what I'm reading? Also, the difference between subsidized and not is about $1.69 per point and this will remain constant?

"On Aulani with subsidized due, will it always be subsidized for the next owners? Thinking about getting one. Yes. The subsidized dues pass on to each new owner."

Above was my question to The Timeshare Store. Not sure of the $1.69 ppt subsidy will remain the same. We are interested to know as well.

The difference between the Aulani standard Annual Dues amount and the subsidized Annual Dues amount should actually increase over time. As you can see from this chart on Aulani's Annual Dues amounts, the difference has increased from $1.42 in 2011 to $1.69 in 2016.

I can't say for certain how DVC computes the subsidized amount each year, but it appears that each year the standard Annual Dues amount and the subsidized amount change by the exact same percentage. So, if the standard Annual Dues go up by 4% in 2017, the subsidized Annual Dues amount will also increase by 4%. But since the subsidized dues is a smaller amount to begin with, the actual increase in the subsidized amount will be smaller relative to the standard amount.

This is great info! Thanks! The older a subsidized contract gets, the more valuable it is for anyone who looks for an Aulani contract.

And that is one reason why the conventional wisdom is that subsidized deeds are more likely to be ROFRed by Disney Vacation Development. By taking back a subsidized Aulani deed, even if its priced slightly higher than the average resale deed, DVD can still save some money by not having to pay the subsidy over the life of the contract.

O no... we just submitted a subsidized $90 ppt 220 pts contract last week - Mar 0 2016 full 2017 (they asked $101 and agreed on $90). Fingers crossed!

If your resale transaction clears ROFR, then consider yourself an extremely fortunate person! Please post back and let us know when you finally hear from Disney about ROFR.

Good luck!

Is it safe to assume the subsidy will last through the life of the contract?

Yes. The subsidy lasts through the life of the contract. Thus, the contract becomes more valuable as each year passes (relative to the nom subsidized contract).
