I was hoping for 2 queen beds but it looks like the studios include a queen bed and sleeper sofa. Looking for opinions on the comfort level of the sleeper sofa. I am taking my BFF and will feel really bad if she wakes up with a bad back every day.

Thanks

As far as I know the only DVC studio units that do not have the queen bed + sofa bed setup are the studios in Old Key West, and in Vero Beach. So Aulani is the rule, not the exception.

I can't comment specifically about the sofa bed at Aulani (we didn't use it when we were there), but in general I hear that the sofa beds in the DVC studios are much more comfortable than one would expect. They were custom designed for Disney, and don't have the "bar across the back" thing.

Well anything short of a 2 bedroom would have her on a sofa sleeper anyway and I won't be making that change for only 2 people. My DD's or their friends have never complained about the sleepers in WDW but I doubt at their age they even know what a backache is. I guess if there is an issue we can trade off every other night.

Thanks

The sofa beds are not that bad. No one has complained about them. It's probably the same ones at WDW. As the tag says: Exclusively made for Disney Resorts!:rotfl2:

DS is a very large guy, and he slept on the sleep sofa in the 1 bedroom at Aulani and had no complaints at all. The first night he tried the murphy bed, and he said it was way too small, but the sofa bed was great.

We had a 1 bedroom and my 18 year old DS slept on in for a week and thought it was very comfortable. My 13 DS slept on the murphy bed and didn't have any complaints.

Hope your BFF finds it comfortable as well.

It's a beautiful resort, have a great trip!
