Aulani studio kitchenette? [Now with photos!]

The robes are pretty comfortable, and I'm not a robe person at home. They sell them in the main gift shop. No clue on the price. Next time I'm out there I'll try to remember to look at the tag.

To our recollection, there was NOT a toaster in the room. Again, the next time I'm there in October, I'll double check.

For those who have a rental car, Target, COSTCO, and many other stores and restaurants are just 6-8 minutes down the highway. Buy at $10 toaster, and do a toaster swap (like the swaps at POP Century). In other words, pass it on to the next Disboarder who is staying after you.

Speaking of restaurants, the prices at Aulani are HIGH!!! There are two options 1 block across the street from the resort. Just Taco's (sit down), and Kapolei Hawaiian BBQ, oh and an ice cream parlor, and ABC Country Store. You'll save lots of money by taking a 6 minute walk over.

He he he, lucky I live 25 minutes away from Aulani, and have leftover points to use.

The Studios do have a toaster. If there isn't one in the room, just call housekeeping and they'll deliver one no charge.

Does anyone know if the Hawaiian Quilts for the beds are for sale? The Hidden Mickey quilt is amazing!

Not for sale at the resort. It's not a full quilt. It's for looks, as it barely covers half the bed.

Neither is the Mickey statue lamp.

Edited 2/15/12.

As of January, the quilt and Mickey lamp are now being sold in Kalepa's store. $200 each. No discount of any kind is offered.

$120.00

That looks like an electric kettle. Not sure if they're standard with the rooms - they haven't been anywhere else.
There is a toaster, it's just not shown (would be on the counter top above the mini fridge).

Im here now and thought about this thread as I looked around the room and realized - There's no toaster. So I've just called housekeeping & there sending one up right now.

I guess it a good idea to check your room when you first get in at any resort, we were also missing the our vacuum cleaner, liquid soap/sponge and and sheets for the rollout bed.

Housekeeping didn't make it clear if the toaster comes standard in the room, but didn't hesitate to gladly provide for any of our requests. The water kettle and coffee maker were in the wall cabinet. And yes, the bar sink will only allow for the smallest of dishes to fit under the spout. Its way, way too small.

Along with housekeeping, all the staff members we meet go above and beyond to be friendly & engaging. This and the resort is absolute beautiful.

 It can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this resort

Glad to hear they are willing to provide a toaster by request -- makes for more diverse breakfast options ;-)

Have a great time!

I agree! We almost always do either toasted bagels or english muffin & egg sandwiches for breakfast in our studios (I poach eggs in the microwave and buy that precooked microwaveable bacon)!! We also like tuna salad sandwiches on toast. Gotta have a toaster!!

Interesting that they'd have the tea kettle standard but not the toaster... maybe we should have demanded toasters in our contracts :rotfl: Technically, they're not required to supply much of anything other than living accomodations, but I'm happy they do that and much more without question. I love DVC!

Have fun! Take pics if you can!

To give your wallet a break try breakfast at Island Country Market. Their Loco Moco (Burger, Fried Egg over Rice with Gravy) is only $3.99 and there are tables set outside in front of the market so you can eat right there. We also purchased some cute inexpensive island flower earrings for my daughter for only $2.99. It's a very short walk from the Aulani Resort.

I hope someone is able to compile a list of available/suggested places to eat near Aulani. I'd love to be able to afford meals at Aulani......but, it sounds VERY pricey.
Now just to afford airfare!

I will second this request.Have heard that there is a Chili's and Outback very close but have no idea if this is true or what else may be available.

Yes, there is an Outback and a Chilis, over in Kapolei near Target and Costco. There is also a Zippys, McDonalds, Taco Bell, KFC, etc. etc. Plenty of choices.

The best choice for a fancy meal off property is Roy's! It is at the golf course (just down the street) and is very good! I just had the best dessert ever last night - their melting chocolate soufle - to top off an excellent meal. Very yummy if you love chocolate!

Here's a map that I roughed out of Aulani's location with some nearby food/groceries/sundries locations in nearby Kapolei. Click on the small thumbnail below to see the full picture.
