We've booked an Island View 2BR L/O at Aulani. What should I include in my room request to get the best possible room? I'd like to be close to the pool/beach (we'll have 4 young kids who will spend most of their time at the beach or in the pool, would be nice if we didn't have to trek too far when heading back to our room. I also don't want to look right at a parking lot or other maint. structure.
Should I just request high floor, near pool or beach area? Or is there anything more specific you could suggest?

Thanks!!

Nothing is a trek here. It seems like everything is just steps away from the next- the pool, play area, beach, etc especially the pool and beach. The resort is relatively small in that way Right now we haven't had to wait more than a few seconds for an elevator which are fast and the walk to your room will be pretty short no matter what. I am really not sure what an island view is.

Are the elevators’ only at the lobby end of the building or are there additional ones at the ocean end of the wings?

I called the front desk and asked their advice. I was asking about a pool view, however. (808) 674-6200
You might try that. I figured they knew the rooms better.

Good luck!

The elevators are in the middle of the wing. In the Ewa tower it is on the ocean side, but you can only walk towards the mountain from the elevator since the last part of that wing isn't open yet.

In the Waianae tower there is one elevator near the hotel part of the wing (the upper 1/3), then I believe there is another near closer to the ocean about 1/3 of the way down though I never took it.

Here's a picture of my "island view" in the hotel room. It was room 536 I think, though it won't help you much since I don't believe there were any villas in that branch.

Thanks for the tips! Sounds like elevators are pretty accessible. I just hate getting to a resort and wishing I'd known to ask for x.
