Don't be too concerned about temperatures. Weather on Oahu is almost always great. I think the average high varies about 5 degrees over the course of a year.

We've been in September, as well as several other months over 8 visits, and thought the crowd levels were perhaps a little lower but still not a huge variation.

Yeah we check the weather often and since we have Oahu in our app we are always comparing the temperature there. It's warm basically all the time. Although this is coming from me where I live it snowed less than 2 weeks ago

I am having to WL a studio, so sad about the GV But even though points are much less we dont want to wait til mid September.

Yes immensely. But I may have pivoted our plans once again. Im having real hard time not getting what I want (GV)

So I know I have to pay the travel tax , do I have to pay that right when I arrive? Will that delay my self check in? Or can I still just walk to my room with my magic band ( as long as it’s ready when I arrive) and then go pay later?

You pay at the end of stay unless you prefer to pay in advance like me.

I have to be responsible and wait until after May 15th to move forward and book the GV. I have watched 3 random single days get booked over the last week while stalking. Hoping I dont screw myself by being responsible. The reason behind waiting is, if I cant secure MM tickets I will cancel our 3 day stay at WDW in August and that will free up points. If I book GV now I have to borrow from next year and I dont want to borrow that 100 points that may potentially get freed up.

Thats the hope. I got 14 days to wait it out. So I take it people don't cancel GV the way they cancel all other room categories.

When you arrive you will need to take a ticket at the ramp entrance. Then you should go to front desk to get a parking pass to display on your dash. From then on you will use a magic band or key card to open and close the ramp gate.

Well you scared me, I took the leap. GV here I come!

We have enough point spread that Im sure I will figure something out if I cancel August at WDW. Plus if I lost the GV Id just be giving the 2 bedroom dirty looks the whole time I was there wishing it were the GV. I also gave up going to DLR for the 70th to make this happen. Im sure its worth it

I love the AUL GV’s. The Ocean Front views from every room in the place are fantastic.

It has some weird quirks, like a massive empty hallway that provides a second entrance to the primary suite. Good place to store empty luggage.
