Hello All,
My family (me, hubby, son (4), son (8)) will be staying at Aulani for Thanksgiving week this year. I'm in full blown planning mode and want to make sure I don't miss any reservations or anything.

We are staying in a Deluxe studio.

So, what do I need to reserve in advance and how early can I do that?

Can I reserve a Cabana, what about the casabella chairs?

Do you think there will be anything special for Thanksgiving day that we should plan on?

We are going for our fourth time in May. I would definitely get reservations for the character breakfast ahead of time, if you want it, as well as dinner st Ama Ama...again if you want it. We don't have little kids so we don't use the kids programming. We never reserve cabanas but I know you can do them ahead of time. That week will be super busy, so you will want to get as many reservations as possible, if you plan on seeing Pearl Harbor held there, yiu will need reservations ahead Of time. If you go to the Pearl Harbor web site you can get free reservations. I believe the probsbly have a thanksgiving day brunch if you want it. But you will need reservations well ahead of time. When we go we never leave, but You may want to get a car and take some day trips if you have never been there.

agree with @cedricandsophie 's advice above. i don't know about cabanas, but you can do Ama Ama as early as 120 days out, or maybe 180 days, i don't recall the details. here's the reservation form.

with kids 4 & 8 you'll definitely want to pre-register them at Aunty's Beach House, Aulani's kids' club. this is so you won't have to get up at the crack of dawn on your vacation every morning in order to put them in some activity. you can pre-register 90 days before your arrival.

i'm still writing my trip report from our 5-night stay a few weeks ago; will try to wrap it up in the next couple weeks. but your kids and mine are similar age so you may want take a look and see what we did. we rented a car from alamo to get from the airport to the resort, then spent most of our time at aulani, though we also got another rental car and went to a super awesome beach 40 minutes away, too. it was a really memorable trip and we can't wait to go back!

Just to chime in, you can reserve the casabellas in advance that are on the Ama Ama deck. We rented the Ama Ama top deck casabellas for 4 days of our trip. You can only reserve the beach casabellas the day of, starting at 8am I believe. I would call now and see if you can rent the casabellas. They were super nice and helpful on the phone. 808-674-6900.

I highly recommend @jtba trip report too! Lots of great info for us planners!! I hope to write a TR as well after our trip in July and our kids are close in age (I have two boys, age 8 and 6).
