Aulani in May question

Aloha! Anyone at Aulani now? I'm curious how the mosquito population is. We'll be there in 18 days!!!! Not that I'm counting down or anything ;-)

Don't know about May, but we just recently got back and mosquitoes were nearly non-existent throughout the areas of the island we were at. In 10 days I got bitten once by something and hubby had about the same.

Aulani is on the dry side of the island. There isn't much around it other than mote resorts and a golf course. I don't think mosquitos will ever be a problem.

Yes, it's on the desert side of the island. Mosquitos aren't a problem there. From personal experience (we finished our staycation on Saturday) there were none.

hit the ten day mark so just did the online checkin. boy will next weeks five days of work will take forever

We were there May 1-8 and never saw a single mosquito!

I'm here right now. I do have one mosquito bite on my knee, but I could have easily gotten that when I went to Hanauma Bay and then drove around the rest of the island the other day.

The only bugs I've seen around the resort are some bigger-than-what-I'm-used-to gnats out by the pool. They haven't presented much of a problem in the mornings, but by the afternoon they are pretty obnoxious. Fortunately they don't bite and are just more of an annoyance.

We had some pretty strong trade winds here on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which I think helps keep down the mosquitoes. It wasn't quite as windy yesterday, and it seemed even less windy today, so I don't know if the skeeters will come out more.
