Hello All!

I will preface this saying, I know this is the DVC board, but there really isn't a discussion board on the internet about Aulani EXCEPT DVC boards... so thank you for letting people like us learn about the resort from you. :cool1:

My husband and daughter will be visiting Hawaii for the first time and staying at Aulani 10/26-11/02. During that fun construction and everything.

I see all these posts about what villas people request (higher floors and I think even numbers?) but was wondering if anyone had an idea of what hotel rooms to try to request.

We already are thinking higher floors but didnt know if any of you had an insight on more.

I greatly appreciate all your insight and information.

Thank you in advance!

There's only one section that is hotel rooms and not villas, its the section on the Waianae side that is closest to the lobby. There are pool, ocean, island, and standard views there, so it depends what category you booked as to what you can request.. In my mini-TR link there's pictures of the island view from the hotel room we got on our second stay.

Isn't the hotel wing on the Waianae side? Here is a map of the resort. The hotel portion is in two parts right above the Phase 2 DVC portion that is outline in red on this map.

Thank you.

How do you think those will be effected during this new construction?

I keep searching for an idea of where to request. Thank you!

What view are you booking... that may help us guide you.

I just returned a few days ago. If the hotel section is above the red section on the map, the pool view is going to hear construction where they are installing the patio covering for outdoor eating area. We had pool view halfway down in the red section (phase II).

The rest of the construction is going to be by the quiet pool and stingray area. According to the CM we talked to while there, that's supposed to begin around 10/1.

Yep, you're right. The hotel is the only non-highlighted portion of your map. Will correct above post. :thumbsup2

Problem is I think of it as the Kapolei-side and the non-Kapolei side in my head. I've never had a reason to go to either Ewa Beach or Waianae.

Hmm. Good to know.

I'm pretty sure I originally booked Garden view and can't check right now but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Any ideas about that? :)

Hi! We returned from there on 7 Sept. Our hotel room was 830. I forget the name, but it was the female side of the resort. We had a fantastic view of the pool area and beach. Our balcony was straight, not angled like it is on the male side. Sunset was really nice since the sun was on the other side of the hotel and didn't blaze into our room every night. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll upload one showing the view from our room!

I believe if you look at the posted map, you will likely be on the top side of those hotel units. I don't think they will have to worry much about construction on that side.

Depending upon which section of hotels rooms you will be assigned, you might have a view of some of the construction. The section of hotel rooms on the map that runs left to right and faces the ocean also overlooks the Wailana Leisure Pool. As Pakey posted previously, the area around the Wailana Pool -- including the currently landscaped area that runs from the pool to the hotel section -- is scheduled for a major transformation beginning in early October. The pool deck around the Wailana Pool is being expanded which requires a lot of the landscaping to be removed. Also, I suspect that the hotel guests in this section (which if I recall correctly have even numbered rooms xx20-xx28) will be able to see some of the construction that will occur on the lawn that sits between the Wailana Pool and the beach.
