Aulani - Gift Cards

Can you put a gift card on your account creating a credit to be used at Aulani (like on the Disney Cruise line)?

Or do you have to wait and go add the gift card once you have charges (like at WDW resorts)?

It's just like the WDW resorts. I made sure that I went down and paid off my account before they charged my card.
