Aloha DVS members and friends,

We are looking forward to visiting Aulani XXXX (details removed) and are interested in a XXXX (details removed). Central Reservations are no help in answering questions about how and when Villas might be available to non-DVC quests.

Hopefully you can be helpful and answer some questions:
When can non-DVC guests begin booking?
Since member may first book seven months in advance, are Villas unlikely to be available?

Thank you in advance for your advice. Mahalo.

Are you planning on booking direct with Disney or are you looking for a member to book with?

DVC Members who own Aulani can book 11 months out. Non Home Resort DVC members can book 7 months out.

CRO inventory is separate from member inventory. As I understand it, if 50% of the points are sold to members and none of those members have "traded out," then a max of 50% of the inventory is available to members leaving 50% available to general public for cash. We have had friends book DVC for cash about 7 months out in general.

It depends when you are going. We are DVC members and looked on the Aulani website for a family of 5. It gave us 3 options for 7 nights. 2 rooms at 4400 a piece, a presidential suite at $9500 or a 1 BR DVC standard view at $5400. You could book that on the Aulani site. We called MS and booked a cash room with our member discount. We are booking for the July 2014.

There's a good reason why CRO is not very helpful in answering these questions, and it's because the questions are beyond the scope of their position. Typically, villas are turned over to CRO during the last two months before a stay or when the points have been used for exchanges. These are not easy to track or even predict. With Aulani there is another component, specifically the share of the resort that has not yet been sold, and I'm not sure why they haven't made that inventory available or can't tell you more about it.

That being said, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish or why you are having difficulty (unless the dates are really far out). I think you are trying to stay in DVC accommodations without being an owner. If this is the case, one thing to consider doing is contacting a point rental broker (or an owner directly) about renting points for a reservation. Given the numbers that jockotaco gave above, renting points for a reservation would be the least expensive option by at least $1,000. Good luck.
