I know I've read on these boards that people are having good luck booking Aulani at seven months out. We really, really want to book 8 nights beginning Jan 8, 2012, but of course, can't call till June 8.

I know no one knows, but from what you've heard, what's your best guess? Will there be availability? I'll take anything that's available regarding villa size, view, etc.

Here's a link to a thread that I started. Many people seem to have had great luck getting full availability at the 7-month window.

January is low season for Hawaii. I think you should be good if you're willing to be flexible with view/room size.

Thanks for the link and for the encouragement that I should be able to get what we want.

Yes, January is low season for Hawai'i, and for DVC at Aulani, on January 8 it changes back to Adventure from Premier, so it'll be by no coincidence that we go on or after the 8th!! :thumbsup2

I just recently added 60 points of Aulani to ensure I can get the dates I want at Aulani. Actually the on site tour was what pushed it over. Aulani looks like an exciting resort, and looks to fill up fast, at least until 2013, when phase 3 opens.

I had no idea you could add-on as few as 60 points. I just assumed there was a minimum purchase of 160 points. Can I ask what the cost per point was, and where I can find more info? I should probably call my guide!!

I just booked a one bedroom Island view for Dec 3 today for a week using non-home resort points. I would think that the demand on Jan 8 would be at least slightly lower just like it is elsewhere in Hawaii. Also, there will feasibly be more rooms available via the opening of Phase 2. However part of that will depend on how many points have been sold and entered into the DVC system.

I think you'll do fine - just make sure to call first thing in the a.m. on June 8!

We just booked a 6 night stay in a 2BR OV room at Aulani checking in Nov. 1st. There were many other categories available as well. Hope you get your dates in January. :)

I was talking to MS for a different reason and just happened to ask about availability 7 months out (since we're going to try to reserve the week before Christmas). It just happened to be seven months before Thanksgiving week, and at that time there were 2 brms with several different view choices available.

I was very surprised, and now I'm a bit more hopeful for the time around Christmas to be open!

If you are an existing DVC member, you can get as few as 50.

$120 pp is the going rate. The discounts don't kick in until you get to 100 points I think.

I booked for the week after Thanksgiving with no issues and had my choice of rooms and views. I think until the resort sells out it is pretty easy other than holiday times. Can't wait!!
