If you are an Aulani resale owner without DVC benefits, can you still use the DVC only check in line to bypass the long normal check in line?

That check in line can get pretty long sometimes. I always do online check in via the app. When my room is ready, I'll get a text message on my phone. I park in front of the hotel, drop off my bags and family, then I go self park. I use the Aulani app to open the door to my room. I take my Magic Bands with me and they can be used to open your room door, get your pool wristbands and pay for stuff. I go to the front check in desk at night when the line is nonexistent.

What do you need to do at the check-in desk at that point? Seems like everything you need has been taken care of (have not been to Aulani yet so not sure what I'm missing w/r/t check-in).

I need to go to the check in desk because my mother in law wants an actual room card. Also, the front desk is where laundry tokens are provided to DVC members staying in studios. They also provide an additional parking pass if you need it. My wife goes to get buttons.

If the app and magic bands are good for you, you never have to go to the front desk

Thanks! Good info to know. Hoping to book Aulani for later this year as our 7-month window opens.

I go to the front desk to put a gift card credit balance on ny account. I’m not sure but I think the DVC line is for any DVC member. They have no way of knowing whether it is direct or resale.

Thank you all! Do you know if you can use the aulani app to get the pool bands of you don't have magic bands?

As a heads up, the cast members don't always know you've done online check-in. On our recent trip, a cast member greeted us by the water station and then escorted us just inside the doors and "checked us in" at a stand there, separate from the main check-in counter. We had already gotten our room notification, so I wasn't sure why we had to do this, but I was glad I did because neither of our keys in the app worked, and our Magic Bands didn't work either, so we were glad we had stopped and received physical cards.

For the DVC line, I don't think it matters if you bought resale or direct. They really do take the DVC members first, too. There were multiple people in the regular line when I stopped to get a question answered, and they took me first. I felt kind of bad to walk in front of everyone waiting!

They just ask you your room number. In a whole week, we never once had to show anything to get our bands. You tell them your room number, they ask your name, and that's that. No worries. You CAN scan the Aulani app, but you don't need to. You don't need magic bands for anything. They're more of a "just if you like them" situation.

My mobile app rarely works to open room doors at WDW, DL, and Aulani, so I always need to go to the Front Desk. Additionally, my MagicBands never work until the Front Desk activates it. At the front desk, I will get room keys, activate MagicBands (I don't use MB+), and laundry tokens.

We've never been to Aulani, first trip will be in March, 2025. So just to confirm, there is a separate check in line for DVC?
Will they spend a few mins providing resort info? We'll likely bring Magic bands, we're so used to them at WDW. We often do online checkin, but since it's our first time, would like to get all the info we can. thanks!

Last year I noticed that there's a separate line at the front desk for DVC members. It's right next to the main line. There's a sign at the entrance of the line. Front desk did explain the resort and gave us a map.
