Well, they have the big food festival being held at the resort on September 8th in the late afternoon/evening, so I bet they are trying to get lots of things done before then to impress all of the important people attending the event. If I were paying $500.00 for the evening to be served by famous chefs, I sure would think the resort would try to put on it's best face.
We are here now. They put water in the pool on Sunday. Palm trees were planted on Sat, I think, around the pool. Light polls are up but still wrapped in plastic. They worked both Sat and Sun. I asked a cast member yesterday if that pool was going to be adults only or a quiet pool. He said the cast members don't even know. Disney keeping quiet on those details. Based on what I see, a Sept 30th finish date looks reasonable.
I guess they finally have that Adults only pool that people have been wanting.
Wailana=adult only pool
Construction is moving quick now..almost there...almost there!
I saw it listed as adult exclusive on their Facebook page here:

If you don't have Facebook maybe someone can save the photo and upload it hereI am on my phone and don't have the ability at the moment.
Interesting. That pool was closed when we were there but I was under the impression that it doesn't have a hot tub?
Yeah, I don't think the new adult pool has a hot tub, just a pool![]()
We just left yesterday and the construction is almost completed. They took down the barrier walls and you can now see inside. The pool is filled and it appears that the only remaining thing that's needed is the landscaping. I took a picture but I don't know how to post it.
I spoke to a few cast members and they said it is not adult only.
Which pool are you referring to? The new Ka Maka grotto pool or the new Wailana pool?
Aulani on fb (see my post a few posts up) said the Ka Maka pool is family friendly and has a whirlpool. The Wailana pool which is set further back and to the side, is billed as adult only, per Aulani.
I guess who knows until its opened though!
Some of the construction walls came down today and we can see inside. There is still A LOT of work to be done even though the water is in the new pool. The restaurant isn't even close to being done. Cast member told me today that it is scheduled to open on Oct 1st. He thought the pool that was Adults only will remain that way but he wasn't sure. I hope so. The pool has been closed twice since we have been here.

The Disney Parks Blog posted today that Ka Maka Landing and Ulu Cafe will open October 19th. I wouldn't be surprised if there there soft openings before that date though.
