Aulani Cabanas and Executive Lanai

Thanks everyone for posting. We booked the Executive Lanai for our September 2024 trip. It seems like a lot of space and, unlike the 8 cabanas, the Executive Lanai has a good view of the ocean.

Our big concern is afternoon sun, so it will be interesting to see how well the umbrellas work if we move the chairs back a bit.

I'll post additional feedback after our stay.

We greatly enjoyed it. There was only 3 of us - it was a lot of extra space. We were glad we did it on our full day at the pool, as all the best spots filled up before 6:30 AM. There still were plenty of other spots available later in the morning, but these were in the sun, which would have been tough all day.

Our server came by frequently, and the location was convenient to the beach, the pools, and Off the Hook. But the quick service (with soda refills) was a bit of a walk. IMO, it was a much better deal than the more expensive cabanas. The Executive Lanai had more room to stretch out and was in a better location.

My worry was the afternoon sun, but with the two umbrellas, we were able to stay in the shade and there was a refreshing ocean breeze keeping us comfortable.

When we had it we BAKED in the afternoon and ended up just leaving.

You were either in a heat dome or chairs that couldn’t comfortably get in the shade.

The CM said that a lot of people had issues with the afternoon sun in that spot as well. They need bigger umbrellas.

Also, the foliage blocked the ocean when we were sitting down.

Great impressions thanks!! Only 3 of us too and I hope to book it for my first full day at the resort (check in late on a Saturday so hope to get Sunday)

Did you have any trouble booking it?

Book it as soon as you can. There is only one and when we checked a few days later to switch days, it was already gone for that day.

I moved the folding lounge chair around a lot. At one point, I had both on the same side of the umbrella.

I agree, bigger umbrellas would have helped.

This panoramic shows the original spot of one of the lounge chairs would have been completely in the sun to the left if I had not moved it.

Our 90 day window opened this morning at 4 a.m. central. I called the front desk 808-674-6200 yesterday evening to see if the executive Lanai was still available for our last day (check out on 30th of May and flight is at 9 p.m.) and they said it was. Set the alarm for 4 and called right away. Success! :tigger: Price is now $370 but we do have a place to hang out all afternoon and evening.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Anybody going soon, you might want to save that phone number to your faves.
