Aulani availibility in June (historically)?

Hey all! We don't own at Aulani so can't book until a 7 month window but are trying to put together something for summer 2014.

Historically, what's been the 7 month availability for late June? We'd want a studio or a cheap view 2 BDRM.

We stayed last summer at aulani for the 4th of july week and this year we will be there the third week of june. If i didn't walk the reservation through I would have never gotten any dates. I could see by the way rooms were being booked everyone else who didn't own there was doing the same thing.

We were there the beginning of June and had to split our 9 nights 3/6 (studio/1 bedroom) but the resort was still new there probably wasn't the inventory available.

We are staying next door to Aulani in June, could not get points to stay at Aulani at that time. We hope to be able to walk over to see the fantastic resort along the shared beach path, we are staying one lagoon over at the Ko Olina Beach Villas.
I tried renting points through David's....no luck. I hope we can take in as much of the awesomeness of Aulani as possible without sleeping there. We'll have lunch or dinner at 'Ama'Ama, spend time on the lovely grounds, etc. Would love to see Starlit Hui if possible.... sigh.

I just did a "what-if" search for our range of dates, only in 2013 and there was diddly squat.

Not sure if we'll take the chance as airfare has to be booked WELL in advance of our 7 month window.

I tried to book during my 7 month window for the week of June 15 this year and was shut out. I'll have to attempt it again next year with a different month.

I'm DVC but own at a different resort and had a really hard time at the 7month window. Had to spurlge on a I bedroom OV which was okay but could only get in 5nights originally wanted 8. I was online as soon as it opened up for resv!

Got really lucky with 1 week in a 2 bdrm in late June last year...booked at 7 months, but I walked the ressie from about 4 days prior.

Not sure that Aulani has been open long enough to have a "historical" background. With only 4 months to go until June I don't think I would expect to find any availability. But I think June is probably especially hard to get because the points are lower for like the first 3 weeks or something. We just booked an OV studio for a week in August at our 7 mo. window but I waited to purchase our air until after I had secured our reservations. Is there a particular reason why you say that airfare has to be booked WELL in advance of the 7 month window? Can you consider booking later in the summer at all when the competition for rooms may not be as fierce?

I'm pretty sure they checked wrist bands./room keys for the Starlit Hui.

I booked at 7 months out at 8am for this June and got what I wanted - 6 days in a Poolside Garden view (Oceanview was also available). Later that day, no whole weeks were available in any category.

Fast forward to a month or two ago and I looked back for the first time since I made the original reservation and there was availability in almost all categories. As with any fairly big trip, people initially book thinking they'll go then things fall through and they cancel. I don't think it's necessarily easy to book at 7 months, at least for June, but it is definitely do-able.
