Has anyone here been to DLP at the beginning of August and can tell me what it´s like? Is it insanely crowded? We will probably traveling with my sister and her family, so in total we will be 4 adults and 9 or 10 kids from 18 months to 17 years! What would be our best strategy and how many days do you think we would "need" for the parks?

The earliest I've been in August is the second week - we manage the crowds fine using EMH and fastpass. It's actually my favourite time of year to go as IMO the late summer evenings and fireworks far outweigh any crowds and queues.

How long were you thinking of going for? Personally I wouldn't want to spend any less than 3 nights/4 days in August - more if you can or you wish to visit Paris.

I've been 3/4 times during August and I personally wouldn't say its insanely crowded, yes its busy so queues in shops and for parades are kind of bad, but for rides we've never stood in a queue longer than 30min I don't think.

Try not to read too much into this board where people say its crazy busy because it'll make you panic over it!
I found this board when I was planning our third holiday there and I was like !!! how busy?! Then realised, oh yeah I always go then and theres never been a problem XD

Going during Summer is the best really, fireworks, good weather and the park is open longer :)

We usually do 3 nights or 4 nights
By the third day we've usually done everything we wanted to a few times.
It will kill your feet though walking around all day, so make sure you find some comfy shoes first! :)

We went late August this year and it was very crowded. If we didn't qualify for a special disability pass for our son I doubt we would have got on a lot of the rides.

I would suggest 4 or 5 days, so that you can take things at a more relaxed pace but do not have the plan on seeing everything, I have always found if you rush around too much you miss part of the magic (though I have to admit my disney history is mainly touring WDW and not DLRP).

As already said the big advantage in August is the parks are open longer.

The weather can be a bit unreliable so I would suggest a rain jacket of some nature, though it should still be warm.

Whenever you are looking to go try and go during the week as the weekends are really busy.

Thanks everyone :)
We will probably go the first week of August and spend 4 days in the parks :)

We're going then! We're arriving from Vendee on the last Saturday in July for 4-5 nights (not yet decided). We've been before and Sunday we'll probably not do much park stuff either.....
