August vs September

I am trying to schedule a last minute trip. I am conflicted as to if August 5-9 or anytime in September would be the best for lower crowds. I know September is typically a lower crowd time but with pass holders blocked out in August and September first time they can get in the park for Galaxy Edge I wonder if August would be better. Anyone have any opinions on this? Thank you in advance!

I think early August, before SWGE would be good because most people are probably saving their vacation for SWGE’s opening.

At DLR SWGE has been open since 5/31. I agree with early August, because of AP blocks for Deluxe, and the California Resident only APs.

I prefer early August before the AP's are unblocked. I think it will still be summer busy but not in the way it is when the AP's are unblocked.

I would also tentatively lean towards early August being the better option this year (before the APs are unblocked). In terms of September, it depends on whether you're thinking of a weekend or weekdays. Once HalloweenTime starts, the weekends are pretty busy.

Wait disregard what I said actually, I thought this was about Disney World! Haha my bad. (No idea how I forgot because we just went to SWGE at DL )

But still for DL August I think because of AP blocks.

According to whom? September won't necessarily have lower crowds once Halloween Time and the parties start. There really aren't any more predictably low crowd times at DLR. If the crowds start to drop, Disney manages to offer some promotions to draw the locals back in and bam... crowds! Just pick the time that works better for your schedule, then come back here to start working on a plan of attack.
