Hi everyone, thought I would let you know how our vacation went. We stayed at Pop Century Aug 18-25th. Overall the resort was very nice. Great for families. I think that if you do not have children and you can afford it I would rather stay at Port Orleans. It just seemed less crowded and quieter then Pop.
We had the free dining plan and ate at some good restaurants including Narcoosees, Ohanas and 50s diner I think that my top 4 picks believe it or not would be (in no specific order)
1)Yak & Yeti (TS)
2)The Plaza
3)Sci-Fi
4)Columbia Harbour House
I would personally not buy the regular dining plan, it was just wayyyy to much food. We ended up sharing meals at quite a few places and then had CS credits left over which they would not let us trade for snacks. We had to exchange for breakfast pastries. The couple in front of us who were also checking out that day had purchased the deluxe plan and they had 16 credits left over
We enjoyed all of the parks my least favorite still being Animal Kingdom. Just too much walking for the amount of things to see. Same with Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure alot of walking. You have to walk through City Walk before you reach the park. Mears shuttle was a disappointment they ended up being over an hour late picking us up at Pop and we were trying to do both parks in one day unfortunately we were not able to see everything.
Overall it was a great vacation but I think I will have to stick with Disneyland in the future. More condensed area which means less walking, less humidity and less air time. You may hear from me in the future on the Disneyland forum. Hope everyone enjoys their future visits at DisneyWorld
