Making plans for our August trip and we were thinking 5 days at the parks with 2 free days. To deal with the heat we were thinking of doing early entry so we would have a light breakfast at the room. Stay in the parks until around noon and book table service for lunch at parks. After lunch head back to our resort for a few hours in the AC or at the pool.

We would head back to the park around 6 pm and do quick service for dinner.

On our 2 free days we would book some character meals at the resorts. Most likely breakfast and hopefully Hoop Dee Doo.

Originally, we had more meals planned but our thought is the heat means we need to plan differently. Our thinking is having a sit-down lunch gets us out of the heat and frees us up at night when it should be cooler than the hours of 1 to 5.

This will be our first time back in years so for those who go frequently does this make sense?

TIA

We always have to go in August due to family schedules. I think you have the right idea!

We do something very similar. We love to spend afternoons at the resort because everyone can do what they want. Our kids are 21 and 18.) I always love a shower and a nap! We start at one park in the morning and hop to another after the resort break.
I personally love resort days, as well. We pay way too much to stay on property so we might as well take advantage of it! We also make sure we go to Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort Guests as well.

We also like to add After Hours events, when available. We have attended AH at MK twice, one regular and one villains. We are considering H2O Glow at Typhoon Lagoon this trip. Then we sleep in the next morning.

I wish we could go other times of the year because I really do HATE the heat and humidity. I honestly don't see that happening until we retire!

Next year we might try December 26 through December 31

My daughter is a teacher and granddaughter is about to start school so we are going to be mostly August, Christmas week and Spring Break

This year my daughters school did not have the week in November known as Jersey week off and we are not sure she will in the future.

My wife and I would love to go between MLK Day and President’s weekend but as long as our granddaughter is little we want to take her.

Working as a teacher, August is our time to visit. We also like a late lunch meal in AC. It is also a good time to window shop in the stores if you need time to cool off. There are a lot of attractions in doors and Disney keeps their AC running. Busses are typically freezing. Remember to hydrate and you will be fine. The later in August the lower the crowds also.
