We would use a Quart Ziplock bag put Ice and a wash cloth in that bag when ice would melt the wash cloth would absorb the water, GREAT for cooling off. I would put the quart bag in a galloon ziplock bag just in case there was any leckage. It also keep water bottles cool. I would keep it in a back pack.

Great idea! I was actually hoping could get away with just carrying a hip pack but I may really need to carry a backpack as well. Thanks!!

We were down in August '97 and it was hotter than hot. We just brought washcloths from the hotel (one for me and DH) and before we got in a long line for a ride, we would soak it in the drinking fountain and place it across the back of our necks while we waited- it really helped!!

My mom would always take that product called Sea Breeze and some cotton balls to cool off. When I was a kid we always went in August.

I love sea breeze use it daily. I've found it doesn't travel well the bottle ALWAYS leaks not a problem only sea breeze but it a bit expensive to have drippin out of the bottle

WARNING do not get sea breeze in eyes it BURNS for a few mins. Be esp careful if using it on a childs face. It won't harm the eye but it sure burns.

cooltec hats. Had 2 special made for my last trip with neck protectors. Soak em in cold water for 5 minutes and they keep your head cool for 8 hours (more or less). Great for us bald men. Look em up online by the words cooltec hats. Worth every penny and much more. I rank them among the top 5 apparel inventions.

I did a websearch for cooltec hats and did not find anything,, do u have a link to some site so i can check these out?

Anything that you can put on the back of your neck to keep yourself cool definately helps. It gets horribly hot in the summertime (August especially), so do anything you can to keep yourself cool in the summer.

I saw that parade once. Its a shame they discontinued it! We all really liked it.

Remember the hats that had umberella on the top of them I thought they looked so stupid at the time.....

I'm thinking hat with umbrella then a remote in my hand that sprays a fine cool mist over my head and shoulders as I walk thru the park or stand in line. I know keep dreaming...

On 2nd thought I can only imagine the ppl who would not take them off for indoor shows and parades etc that would block others view. It was a neat idea for a minute or 2 lol.

Think I'm gonna go to my local Walfart store gonna check auto dept and housewares might be cheaper to buy the white terry cloth shop rags which are usually the size of hand towels and hemmed the best I remember. Which ever is cheaper buy a dozen or so.
Take a handtowel (shop rag) to the park with me each day when I get hot which prolly won't take to long run in bathroom dampen the towel (not totally wet it don't want to be drippin and it runnin down on my shirt) then lay towel across the back of my shoulders and if needed I can lay it over the top of my head a few mins or wipe face with it. At the end of the day throw it in laundry.

Don't want to use towels from resort cause it might get lost or I might get tired of carrying towel around and decide to toss it.

If you really want to be savy you could prolly buy a cheap handtowel about the same color as your shirt.

Also it's amazing how much a wet paper towel from bathroom can cool ya down I've used that method as well and carried it with me in the parks yeah had to go back and get another towel frequently but it didn't take long either.

Not the most attractive sweat catcher but it works.

I'm a plumber and work in the sun a lot fixing leaks at the meter. Direct sunlight for an hour or two at a time. I keep an old cooltek hat in my van. Wouldnt even try it without it! Its a lifesaver! They really do work as well as they say. However, the length it keeps your head cool is in variance with how hot it is. On a REALLY hot day I give it 2 hours till I soak it again. While building the deck in the back yard I just dropped it in the pool every few hours. I also wore it while building our sunroom, gazebo (resembles the china statue in epcot), and my 32' X 22' storage building. I also wore it while building our new living room. On my last trip to WDW we ordered matching hats, and even my wife wore one from time to time, but shes not much of a cap wearer. Conflicted with her minnie ears. :earsgirl: If you like hats and you want to stay cool, the question is not "Do they work" the question is "Would I wear a hat".
