August POP'ers....where are you?

We, Uncle, Aunt, Cousin(17), Husband,Daughter (2) and myself are going August 7-13 w/DDP at Pop....but thinking about adding an extra "room only" night on the 13th. This will be the first for all of us staying at a Disney Resort!!

I just called on Sunday and got all our ADR's, heres the list!
Mama Melrose’s for 5:10pm
Coral Reef for 4:50
Restaurant Marrakesh for 6:00pm
Tony’s Town Square for 6:15pm
Le Cellier for 2:30pm (not sure if i want to try change this to dinner, I like the dinner menu better more to pick from for the picky cousin!)
Kona Cafe 5:20pm

I can't wait for our WDW trip, but at the same time, once we get back our summer is pretty much done with, and thats sad!

we have all our ADR''s
8/26- liberty tree tarven "LIberate your appetite" 8:30pm
8/27-50's Prime timeCafe 8:15 PM
8/28- Crystal Palace 7:50 PM
8/29- Priness Storybook Breakfast 9:30AM
8/30- Whispering Canyon 8:30 pm
8/31- Garden Grill 7:45 PM

We will eat a late lunch about 2:00 PM, last year we were so full, before we even had our ADR"S at around 5:00-6:00 nobody wanted to eat. That's why we made them so late.
Plus we are going with 8 people.
Also canceled one to Le cellier last night on the 8/29

I just noticed that's 4 charactor dinners WOW won't have to stand in line for many autographs

we booked airfare ($60 pp r/t x 6 people=the same cost as driving 18 hours straight!) ... so had to adjust our hotel stay to match the airfare. We'll be at POP from 8/14-8/23. This is gonna be FUN!

Wow, great price on the airfare. I got airfare out of Chicago Midway for $135 r/t. When I went in December we flew for $101 r/t. Pretty much anything under $180 I am happy with.

It IS a great fare, I know! We have to drive a couple of hours to that airport--Columus-- (Cleveland will NEVER have airfare that cheap!! We usually jump on anything under $180pp too) We were stretching the budget for this trip, so we didn't expect flying was a possibility at ALL!

Here's our ADRs:

8/15 Crystal Palace at 8:10am
8/19: Sci-Fi Dine-In 11:30am
8/24: Crystal palace 8:15am

HAHA, not a lot, huh? But we aren't on the DDP, just using DDE (and we snack a lot, and eat big meals rarely especially on hot days.) We'll be living on fruit bowls, Dole Whips, Rootbeer Floats, and popcorn...and World Showcase goodies! Most of our "big" meals will probably be in the afternoon back at the resort (Counter Service WITH the DDE discount!)

WOW! Congrats on the great airfare! We looked into flying a couple of times and the best rate I could find was $183 pp... that and the idea of not having our own transportation while down there made us stick to the driving.

I know. We never use our van once down there, but like being able to drag out our departure to drive back home! With flights, can't do that.

Only other bad thing about choosing to fly: my brother (military) and his family are currently in South Carolina for this year. My SIL is really homesick, and my kids miss their kids a ton. We were going to stop and see them as we drove through SC both directions. Now, we will have to plan a special trip to drive the 12 hours to see them. EEk.

Hey all. I am sorry I have not been posting lately here. Been having so many problems at my place of work recently. I just have not been keeping up with everything.

Anyhow, I am on the laptop now. So, my dining plans are not on this comp. But, I will list them. I cant believe I havent already. I am still looking for airfare going down. As I have bought the airfare returning to Long Island. Hopefully, I will get a ding fare soon. For my trip down. If not, I will just book the 99 dollar fare. Which would bring my total to just over 545, for the 3 of us. Not the best. As I got SW flights for 102 r/t p.p. last year. Gas prices, as coming down. So maybe the airfare will too.

Has anyone started packing yet. I havent. I am starting to buy the kids some extra clothes, for our trip. Well, you all take care. Until, the next time I post.. :)

Good to hear from you again... was wondering why no posts! We have gone out and purchased new clothes for almost every day of our trip (last summers clothes are either stained or falling apart) and have basically set them aside just for the trip..... mine are set aside in a suitcase.... does that count as almost packed?? LOL Also finally found a Home Depot (the closest one is 50 miles away, but we were traveling in the area) and picked up the entire stack of Alien Green Mickey Heads.... the entire stack was only a grand total of 7.... and a few other colors that we liked... Now I need to figure out what to do with them to display them... Since we both are gonna ride ECVs I thought I might attach some to them (Storytime Blue for me, Friendly Forest to Moms) that way we will know positively whos is whos...lol. I also picked up some laminate... but haven't decided what to do.... how does everyone else do em?:happytv: :teacher: :rolleyes1

Shhq, Last year. I put glue between the lime green chips, so both lime green mickeys were facing outward. I wrote my tag name on the white parts with a sharpie. Used a hole puncher when the glue had dried, and put some lime green ribbon through the hole and tied it to my purse. It hung down about a half of foot. And was pretty cute for the 4 days it lasted. Somehow it just popped off. I am thinking, it probably got wet on kali or splash, and tore off. This time. I will make more maybe 4. Just in case. I am thinking maybe I will get some more paint chips to decorate the windows. Maybe I will let the kids in on it too.

Anyhow Shhq, your idea of decorating the ECV's sounds like a great idea to me!:thumbsup2

I'll be there 8/26-9/1 with husband, three kids and my parents. This is the first time my parents will be in Disney World since 1980 and I'm so excited that we can take them! They have NO idea what's in store for them. :rotfl2:

Our ADRs are:
26th Chefs de France
27th Crystal Palace
28th Mama Melrose
29th Boma
30th Biergarten (for my husband's birthday, he loooooves Biergarten!)
31st Kona Cafe

Welcome, everyone new!!

I have to tell all of you that I just cannot wait for the day to be in Disney again. I have been trying to eat a bit healthier, just to be able to snap my seatbelt on the airplane. :lmao:

So when I get down there. I am going to indulge. I cannot wait. The sweet I think about everyday is a schoolbread. Oh my word it was so good. Last year my son and I got one, and ate all of a quarter of it together, before we decided to go on the ride in Norway. My intentions were to come back out of the attraction to eat it. But, we never got to it, and had to throw it out. Time did not permit us to go and get another one. But I will, the first time I visit Epcot. Also on my must try again list is the carrot cake at Wolfgang Puck' Cafe, and Leciellier' chocolate cake. :cutie:

What is everyone else looking forward to in the sweet dept?:upsidedow

I'll be strolling around the WS with a FIESTA MARGARITA!MMMMMMMM!

I'll be strolling around the WS with a FIESTA MARGARITA!MMMMMMMM!

Last year was the first time I tried one. :Ahem: or should I say, tried to try one. I had two sips of it, as we are strolling by the mexican pavillion. So, my mother says let's go on the lil boat ride in Mexico. My father decides he will skip it, and offers to "hold" my fiesta margarita, until I return. When I get off the ride. You guessed it. My margarita was missing. Oh well, something else to get in August!
:)

the days until there are only 50!!:) However I already feel like the kid in the Disney commercial from a couple of years back that can go to sleep because he's too excited! Boy will I be worn out when August finally gets here! We are arriving Aug15, depating Aug 21. I was really excited to find round trip airlines for $217 per person out of San Antonio, but you guys rock with the cheap airfare!! Can't wait to be at the world again! Bringing DS and her 2 boys (ages 8 & 10) for their first visit, and my mom to share the magic. She's kind of a Disney junkie like me, and my DS (age 7). He went for the first time last December and well.. the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as they say. He's gonna spend a lot of my money at WDW over the next 18 years. Looking forward to learning about Pop more and getting advice/ideas. Only stayed on site once and that was last Dec. at POR. It was awesome, but I think DS will get a kick out of Pop. I've never seen it.. Frozen cokes and dancing in the food court sounds good to me!!
