hi

we have been to wdw twice. once in september when crowds were extremely quiet. we loved it and really enjoyed the fact most rides were walk on and others had very minimal queues. last year we went in november and found crowds high although i have been told this is quiet it was really too busy for our liking. i think it is because we were spoiled by the september crowds.

my problem now is that oldest dd is starting senior school in september and i dont want to go away during term time. i was thinking of going to dlp in the 6 weeks hols and then florida again in april. obviously were going to find big crowds both times. my question is would it be better to do that and wait until april for wdw? are crowd levels similar in april and august at wdw?

thanks

lucy

We've been in April and August :sunny:

Yes, I would say that crowds are similar but, in my opinion, the weather will be much more enjoyable in April :thumbsup2

Really depends on what time of the month you go, we have been in April and August but from now on we are tied to the summer months really.

If you avoid Easter then the crowds will be similar, the main difference is the weather will be hotter and more humid in August, but not necessarily busier.
From mid Aug. the crowds are very manageable as most of the US schools have returned, so from a theme park point of view if you don't mind the heat then mid-August is not a bad time to go at all.

We've also been in both April and August, but remember April as being busier as we were there over Easter.
It wasn't as hot or humid in April, but we found it manageable in August too, especially if you drink lots.
If you can, go during the last week of August. We found it much quieter then as most US schools have gone back.
We also now have to go during School Holidays but, of the 2 months, it's during August that we've booked to go again. If you make good use of Fast Passes though, you'll be able to do everything you want to do whichever month you choose to go. And either way, you'll have a great time!

We usually go for the last two weeks of August and find the parks pretty manageable in terms of crowds - though obviously it won't be as quiet as September. The weather will be hot hot hot though, however if you have been in September before it won't be much worse than that.

I've not been in April but I would imagine the weather would be much nicer (depending on how hot you like it ;) ) but pretty busy over Easter!

hi

we would have to go over easter so maybe it would be better to go mid august returning a few days before school starts.

the only thing is that we cant book our hol until i know when dh is back in the country and i might not know that until a few days before his return.

thanks for the advice.
