August Hours?

Are the park hours really that limited in mid to late August?The dates that I have been looking at, the parks close at 8pm.

Is it Universal's practice to extend hours as August approachs?

July 4th thru the first 3 weeks of August are the busy summer season. After that the kids go back to school and the parks are a ghost town thru September.
It's a tradeoff. If you go in August you can stay in the parks until 10pm and see the fireworks, but it's packed from noon to 4pm. If you go in late August, the place is a ghost town in the morning with short lines.

I wouldn't worry that the parks close at 8pm. You'll have a better time with the short lines.

Thanks you have put me at ease. I was just a little worried because there are so many rides that my husband and I will have to baby swap, that I was worried about time. We were only planning on staying at universal for about 2days.

1 more quick question, do you know if there are fireworks around August 21st or is that only for the first 3 weeks of August?

The fireworks are only when the park stays open until 10pm.
That's the other tradeoff when going at the busy times of the year. The park is packed, but they stay open until 10pm and you get to see fireworks.
You won't get to see fireworks on the 21st, but if you arrive the gate early each morning, the rides will have short lines and you can do the baby swap thing.
In the afternoon, it will be hot and you'll want to leave or go to a restaurant like Mythos and have a 2 hour lunch.
Some people don't like to leave the parks in the afternoon because it's a long walk to the garage and takes time. But I think it's a good plan to leave around noon, then come back around 5pm as the tired are leaving and the temps cool down.

Thank you for the advice. That is a great idea, but we will be staying on property so going to the hotel for a break should be real easy.
