Leading on from an earlier post, looking at the 14th of August next year ( 2 weeks), what is a good price for flights for 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 5). We have nearly always travelled in November so don’t have much experience with August flight prices. Accommodation is not a problem we have DVC, but always rent a car. We can be flexible by a week or so with departure date and could stay upto 15 or 16 nights if it made it any cheaper and would also consider indirect ( but prefer direct with children)

We booked this year 19/08 to 03/09 (15 nights as it was cheaper than 14) using Kayak via Last Minute (delta/klm). We flew via Atlanta - it was a breeze! Off the plane, straight through immigration and collected our bags in 30 mins!

Flight cost was £480 pp for 4 adults (DD & DS were 12 & 14). We booked these late April - just 4 months before we flew.

We are looking for similar dates next year, booking the WDW hotel tomorrow and intending to book flights from January.

Hope this helps - good luck!

Great post Wayne - as you know I was chomping at the bit to get flights this year and missed some really good deals with US Airways LGW via Charlotte for £460 - rule No. 1 if you ain't yet got the money.... Don't look!

I hold your advice in my mind - set a realistic price you are willing to pay, I add to this ideal arrival time (for me it was less than £500 and arrive before 8pm) once I found a flight that met this criteria I booked. We then come to rule No. 2 - once booked DON'T LOOK AGAIN!!

Personally, I have the same criteria for next year - less than £500pp and I intend to book January.

Ours is a little more complicated next summer. We want to fly into MCO (3 of us) but then drive upto North Carolina and leave Matt at Chapel Hill University then just 2 of us fly home, I would think Charlotte is the nearest airport, I looked today its 2 hrs 30 mins away from the Uni.
Hope I can find a deal to allow us to do that.

Thanks both, will look after our upcoming trip and see how it goes.

Just looked into it a bit more, looks like Raleigh airport is the nearest to Chapel Hill not Charlotte. Need to do a lot of homework for next years trip.
