August EMH for Epcot has changed/Update more changes

They've switched the emh mornings to sundays & added an emh night on mondays

I checked today & AK is closing all week (13-20) 1 hour earlier. MGM too on 8/18. Also the waterparks are now 9:30-6:30.

They also corrected EMH nights for 8/21. Only MGM that night & Epcot on 8/22.

OK, now I am getting frustrated!!! I just looked at this site a few nights ago and I am trying to plan my days & PSs AWAY from those darn EMHs - I had Sunday at EPCOT as it is our first full day and we are NOT morning people - thought I could at least get the kids over there close to 9 am, but no way will we make it closer to 8 to get on Soarin and get started on our day.

Thanks for the info, but I am bummed.

I wish Disney would stop messing around with that EMH schedule. They did it for MK a few weeks ago, too!!!

I feel the same way. I thought with 2 weeks until we go, things wouldn't change much. I already have CP booked before MK opens on Sunday & had planned on doing the early EMH on Monday at Epcot. Now I don't know if I should skip Epcot on Monday because it will be EMH that night

Aghhh!! Just literally 2 minutes ago, my husband & I gave the final approval to our intinary. It was a good feeling to be able to be happy with it and just forget about for now. Now this! We figured with only 20 some days left that Disney would probably not make any changes before we go. Aghhh!

Sunday 8/21 is an Epcot EMH night, followed the very next morning with an Epcot EMH morning on Monday 8/22. Does Disney actually think their resort guests are going to stay at up Epcot until midnight and then get up at 6:30 the next morning to be back at the park when it opens at 8?

Exactly. I was thinking the same thing. Now I have to redo my whole itinerary. I don't know what day to go now. I was going to go on 8/21 but not now.

No, there are plenty of EMH mornings at park A that follow an EMH night at park B. I doubt many guests do them successively. For example, when MK is open until 2am on a Monday this month, I doubt Disney expects many of those guests to be at the Studios the next morning at 8am. So, this will be no different.

So, given that, my guess is that 8/22 will be a great EMH morning at Epcot.

By the way, to be at a park at 8am, you only need to get up at about 7:20 at the earliest. What's this 6:30 business?

I agree. It makes no sense that the same park would be open late the night before. Should I avoid going to Epcot in the morning if its EMH at night? or do you think it will be ok since its in between the emh am (sun) & emh night (mon)

I'm just waiting for them to mess with the MGM schedule. That hasn't changed at all since they released August hours.

For once this actually makes things better for us. We have Epcot planned for Tuesday the 23rd so hopefully everyone will be sick of Epcot from Sunday and Monday and stay away Tuesday

Something else to think about...As it is now, Epcot had EMH am on Sundays but MGM has EMH pm on Sundays too!

I have a bad feeling MGM schedule is changing next.

They're adding extra EMH to Epcot because of the popularity of Soarin'. I doubt we'll see extra EMH for other parks.

Thanks so much for the info. I thought they were pretty well set as of the last change a few weeks ago. I think I will check them one last time the night before we go. Phew, just when you think you had it all worked out, they throw a wrench into things!

Is it me, but did they only change the first 3 weeks? I still have the same days on my sheet. And we don't arrive at WDW until 8/26.

I am most definitely not trying to argue! Yet from what I am reading at disney.com, they did not change all the EMH mornings from Monday to Sundays. Here is what I am getting for EPCOT:

Morning Extra Magic Hours
Epcot® - August 7, 14, 22, 29

Evening Extra Magic Hours
Epcot® - August 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 21, 25

I copied/pasted the info from disney.com. With a calendar, you can see the morning EMH are twice on a Sunday and twice on a Monday.

No they didn't: Sunday 8/21 is still an Epcot evening EMH, and Monday 8/22 is still a morning one. That strange back-to-back Sunday/Monday Epcot EMH situation is the one I pointed out earlier in this thread, and it's still up on the official Disney site. Direct cut and paste from that is below:
