When do you book your airfare?

In the past I've booked just around New Years and been happy with the prices.

I know it's a guessing game, trying to figure out what the fares will do. But when have you hit it right?

We go every Aug. and my airfare has been booked since Sept. of last year. We like the first nonstop Delta flight out of Hartford and the last nonstop back from MCO. When I check the airfare at the 330 day mark we were able to get round trip including all fees/taxes for $179/person. Haven't seen it that cheap in a long time. We have JetBlue and SW here but their flight times weren't as good and when the window opened for our dates they were actually more so I am really happy with the price I got.

I've not yet bought my tickets... I usually pull the trigger in June or July for a late August flight.

Last minute + Less flights = less seats = higher fares
