Do any Universal experts know what crowds are typically like at US and IOA at the end of August? We are planning a Disney vacation week of Aug 24th and hoping to hit Universal for a day or two - likely targetting a weekday due to weekends likely being busier there. Wondering if we should pre-purchase the express pass or just wait and see what crowds are like?
Thanks!

We've been in both July and August, and August is far less crowded. We've been in the beginning of August too when the summer crowds are still around and it was never all that bad. We're going for the first two weeks of August this year... It'll probably be pretty empty by the end of August!

Like others said end of Aug not usually too crowded. I was there last year beginning of Aug first week and it was not overly crowded either. However they do have HRRR opening this year and not sure how much we can predict the crowds if its opened up by then. I dont see much of a reason to buy the express pass in advance unless you just want it payed for... But depending on how many ppl you have going I would look into the price of a night at RPR for 2 days of FOTL.

In 2007 we spent the 2nd & 3rd weeks in the Orlando area and visited US/IOA both weeks. The 3rd week was less crowded than the 2nd and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays were the least crowded days. We stayed off-site and found that if we got there for park opening that last week we were able to get a lot done prior to 1 pm, when the lines really started to form.
