August Crowds

slow... park closes at 8PM, no fireworks, no fantasmic
Did you misread the OP, or did I miss an attempt at humor?

In response to the OP, park hours, fireworks, Fantasmic, etc. are maxed out during most of the month. The last 8-10 days often have some cutback in hours.

After about Aug 20 the AP blackout period lifts, so AP holders will come back in force. However, the typical summer visitors will be gone by then.

I have been the last two summers during the first week of August. In August 2005 it was more crowded than 2006, but in both cases crowds were manageable IMO. If you avoid weekends it is not too bad, especially if you can get to the parks early each day.

I strongly agree. We've only ever visited in August and we've never found the crowds that overwhelming. Get there early and if possible take a rest early afternoon before the lonnng evening and you'll be fine. We never waited that long for anything either. August 2004 with Thunder and Space down on the other hand was MAYHEM!!! But that won't be the case for you.

I don't know because I've never visited the Resort any other time of year but I have no problems with going in August whatsoever.

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info....we're doing Disney by day, and Redsox/Angels by night
for a few days at the beginning of August. My guess is that we'll get an early start in the parks.

We went once in mid-August and it was a zoo.
