August, anyone????

Hi All!

We've been to Disney in December and January our last 2 trips, and loved the cooler weather and smaller crowds. Both of these trips meant that we had to take the kids out of school, however, and with our oldest beginning highschool this fall, knew that wasn't an option this year. We've been in June 2 times also, and didn't mind the heat and crowds much at all (our kids are a bit older). Should I expect the same in August as in June???

Actually, we usually go around mid-August because of school. But Florida schools begin around 2nd week of August so during the week days crowds can get bad but not too bad if you plan. However, look out for the week-ends, especially the water parks and MK because they get hit hard! Still, make certain that you do the usual things like ADRs, etc. because it is still summer.

We've done several August trips (usually 2nd-3rd week) and the crowds aren't terrible, but this past trip it was busier than in previous years. It's not horrible though and there are still quite a bit of "walk ons" (with the exception of Soarin). EMH evenings tend to be a bit busier because it's so stinking hot, but if you aren't out in the heat all day, it's not too bad and MK and HS will turn the fast pass back on if it's busy.

We usually go the 2nd week of September, but my son is also staring HS this year. So I am thinking about going the last week of August (after baseball, but during football).

I curious how the crowds are too!

Almost every trip that I have been to WDW would occur ether last week of August or fist week in Sept. The crowds are low, the weather is good. Just be prepared for a quick afternoon shower or an evening rain storm.
