August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

BTW Geffric ( She) is wearing lime green and has lime green Mickey Heads on my luggage and camera bag... LOL.. once you meet my 2 sons - Geoff and Eric.. you'll understand my user name..LOL

Anyway.. since everyone is talking about a "causal" meet.. can we just walk by each other before sail away?? or other suggestions??

:blush:Sorry, Susan! My DH's name is Lindsay and he always gets mail & phone calls referring to him as "she". I should know better (and learn to read and pay attention!)

If you see some strange Japanese woman peering at people in green shirts and looking confused, it'll be me...:rolleyes1

We would love to join any meet for younger kids. We are also first time cruisers. We have 2 boys - 10 & 7 - and a 4 year old girl. The boys weren't that in to hockey but with the Bruins winning the Stanley cup, I don't think there are any kids in the Boston area not in to hockey! :)

Any ideas on where to meet? I'll get something lime green for our lot as well......

Sophia

hi there! we have 2 DSs, 12 and 9!! would love to meet you & your family!! :flower:

I have no idea how to go about organizing a "meet"...what about trying to find each other during the sail away party when the ship is leaving port? Or will that be too chaotic?

Also...those of you with kids in the 5-10 year old range...do you think your kids will be spending a lot of time in the kids clubs? Mine are so excited about that I doubt we will see them for the whole cruise!

our dss are 9 & 12...they are excited about the clubs, but i think they will see what's being offered, and pick & choose what they wanted to do. i haven't checked into the kiddie navigators to see what kinds of activities they may offer...anyone know where i can find such thing here on this board somewhere?

i'm so excited!! 2 more weeks!! the boys are starting to get excited too!! :flower:

ok...so i started thinking about our packing list...and had the boys start taking out some of their dress pants & dress shirts. and had them try it on, to make sure they still fit. if not, i'll have to maybe go do a little outlet shopping or something. it's getting close!! i know some of you are heading into vancouver early...anyone already done packing?!!? :flower:

Anyone STARTED packing yet??

I got as far as pulling jeans out and bathing suite. Hoping to get in the pools, maybe a pic of me in the pool and snow capped mountain in the background?

My wife and I are also interested in a meet, but we have no kids (we can't take the dog on the ship so leaving our "child" @ home with a sitter).

Since I did the FE roster, and setup the facebook group I have been sitting back to see if someone sets up a meet. My wife says I am a control freak :confused3 so hoping someone will get this thing organized..:dance3:

On other cruises (always on the Magic) we have met at 3 pm in the Promenade Lounge. This gives time for folks to settle in and have lunch, but before everyone has to scatter for the Lifeboat drill . The Promenade lounge is located on deck 3 Aft. Anyone interested in meeting for about a half hour or so to put faces with names?

Sounds like a plan to me! :thumbsup2

Our DDs are 16 also. I think it's a great idea to try to "run into" the other DIS families during the sail away party, or even at Canada Place while we're waiting to board. I'll be wearing lime green (it's so flattering) and I think it was Geffric who said he will, also. We also have late dinner.

We can't even find the time to figure out if we have enough luggage, let alone knowing what we are going to wear on sailing day. :rolleyes1 We will be leaving our house at 4am on the day of the cruise and boarding a plane. All booked through DCL. I imagine most of us are going to be pretty wiped out, but I do like the idea of "running into" each other.

Yes, it's official. We will meet :grouphug: at 3 pm in the Promenade Lounge on day 1 (Tuesday) - Deck 3 Aft - same deck as you board the ship. Just beyond Guest Services (which is in the lobby) and before you get to Parrot Cay restaurant. Very easy to find, and any crew member will point you in the right direction if you get turned around!

We haven't started packing yet at all...I just started at Target so between my hours there and at the Disney Store, I pretty much work or have the chance to work for the next 8 days. It will all get done, but I'm just not 100% sure just yet!

Congrats on the new job! Oh my, if I worked at the Disney Store and Target I know my paychecks would go right back to them!:scared1:

Other than knowing I'll be wearing lime green, not many preparations at our house, yet, either.
