August 7th, 2010 Mediterranean Cruise

It will be me, DH and our 3 DDs (14, 9 & 7 at time of the cruise). We are excited, but I'm keeping an open mind and will be considering other cruiselines 2010 European offerings as well.

Hello everyone
We're booked myself and Husband Keith.
I sailed the Med with Helen and Julie last year . Like Helen a British teacher who would have loved the Baltic!!!
Julie you have to tell us all about it.
Helen your new puppy is adorable!!

I will be full of tales of the Baltic by the time we meet up again! I really do hope to stay on for this one, too -- those new ports we will experience look amazing, and they kept in all the best ones from when we sailed last summer.

We've done it!!!! Booked tonight- returning to the Med, Cat 8 rooms. Bringing along our great friends for their 1st cruise. Can't wait. Sooooooooooo excited:cool1: :yay:

Hi,

Has anyone looked at their DCL booking since it was made - It is showing a different itinerey - ;)
Hope they get it sorted before 2010:goodvibes

Just looked! I hadn't noticed earlier. Mmmm, DH didn't mention it when I forwarded the reservation from DCL. I wonder how long before he notices Tunis is missing? :rolleyes1
I think he was too excited.
Somehow, I don't forsee 3 days at sea in the Med.

If Tunis is missing, I might be too! I wouldn't worry about it too much, though -- I remember for a while Cartegena was not showing up on our August 2008 PC repo itinerary, and it was fine -- eventually it reappeared and we did stop there.

I went to Tunisia last Feburary with my mam - it was lovely.

I am really looking forward to going Tunis -will be very interested to see how DCL takes care of us regarding currency.

Tunisia is a closed currency - you cannot bring in or take out any tunisian money.

I got a lovely silk scarf for 4 dinars - :goodvibes

Hopefully we can estimate how much we will need and buy it from Guest Services . . . and keep any change left over as souvenirs!

believe me you get searched of teh tunisian authorities - You dont want to hear what happened to us;) My advise is spend everything you change:goodvibes

As predicted earlier, I couldn't even wait all day before upgrading. We are now in a Cat 6 - Deck 6, port and aft - our favorite part of the ship!

I got the official call from IC on my way home from work. Looks like I was able to keep the 50% deposit deal that I got on the dummy cruise I transferred over because she told me I only had to add another $700 for a total of $1200 for family of four. DH isnt thrilled he really wants Hawaii but I will hold on to this one for a while to see how things pan out. DD was thrilled but when asked which she wanted to do more Hawaii or Med - she says " Mom cant we do both" Kids they have no clue about money....

:thumbsup2
I hope I get to keep the 50% deposit, too. DCL and DU are both showing our reservation for 2010, but I haven't heard from the TA, yet. I'm sure she'll send me something soon on what we owe for deposit.
Tunis is the port my DH found most intriguing.
DD is pleased to do the Med., but was dismayed that there will be no cruise for 2009.
