AHOY all DCL DIS'ers

We have booked our first cruise for August 7-11, 2005 4-night Bahamian Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder. I was WONDERing if anyone else is booked on this curise. Would love to hear from you and maybe plan a meet while on our trip.

After meeting a WONDERful couple earlier this year over on the Resort Boards. (MICKEY'S DREAMERS) Laura and Marco booked this cruise first while on their previous trip, it sounded like so much fun that I talked it over with DH and now we are going to join them for this cruise.

So if anyone else is going please post here, while I know its early I was hoping on we could get to know each other.

Just put my deposit down this morning. We are doing 3 land/4 sea package. We sail on August 7, so we will be there with you. We are Me, Dh, dd 17, ds 12, dd 9. Really looking forward to our 3rd disney cruise.

Hope there are more people going, so we can arrange a meet. Or maybe we will have the ship all to ourselves!!!

I guess I should introduce myself, my name is Beckie my HD is Terry. This is our first cruise I am very excited and I want to try everything.

I post mainly over on the Resort Board the Wilderness Lodge FAQ thread where I met MICKEY'S DREAMERS last year when she and her DH were planning a first visit to the Lodge. As I'm a Native Florida resident (about 2 hours from WDW) I was able to visit WDW while she and her DH were there, she is so sweet and her DH is hilarious who identifies with Grumpy.

After their visit they had a cruise scheduled, after seeing the video from their trip I asked my DH if he would like to join them this year.

I have so many questions, but have been trying to wait until after a large family trip to WDW in May before I will allow myself to get too excited about the cruise.

We are nuts for everything Disney- related. We have been twice aboard the Magic and this will be our second cruise on the Wonder!!!

We usually come to the States in Summer; when we are back at home we spend three months talking about the last vacation we have just had ... then we spend two months defining the dates of our next trip and six months planning next WDW staying + Cruise ... Then we finally come to the States for almost one month and we are ready for next year trip again

I have been reading my PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line for the last two days, Cindy and family are on a holiday in the mountains this week so I wanted to try and book our room for before the cruise.

Terry and I have decided on the Radisson Resort at the Port arriving on Friday Aug 5th then visiting Kennedy Space Center Saturday.

What about yourself and Marco any plans yet?

I have come up with a few Shore Excursions we would like to do:

Nassau: We would like to book the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim, I will need to book through the company direct as DCL just offers the Encounter...I want to smell like a FISH.

Castaway Cay: Personal Watercraft ECO Tour, the Boat Ride, Snorkel and ride the bikes over to The Ocean Overlook.

I have been reading my PassPorter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line

It's a very good guide! we got "edition 1" and we have just ordered (through Amazon) ... "edition 3" ... which is not yet available
(I guess you have "edition 2")

A friend of us stayed at the Radisson resort three years ago before cruising aboard the Magic: she told us her family has been completely happy with all the facilities of the hotel.
At that time AVIS had an office in the hotel, so it was very convenient to have a rented car, drop the car at the hotel, spend the night there and go to the ship with the AVIS (or Hotel) shuttle.

We booked the room but only for one night, Terry said we will just drive down eary Saturday morning, and save extra night's room charge for a Spa treatment.

Are you still wishing to visit Kennedy space center ?
We did ,if I remember correct, two years ago : REALLY VERY INTERESTING !!!! we recommend this visit !

At that time we stayed in an hotel in Cocoa beach , inexpensive but cozy ...

KSC is about 20 minutes drive from the Radisson, you should have all day to spend there , really worth it !!!!

Have you two already made a decision about first or second sitting for dinner ?

Yes, we took your advice and requested the later seating... On the reservations it has Dining: Second.

Not sure about KSC I have been serveral times, actually worked in the Cocoa/Merritt Island area and witnessed the first Shuttle Launch many years ago. Terry is from Mississippi and has never visited.

I know I want to visit Ron-Jon Surf Shop, it's been years since my last visit.

We will be more than happy if you can book PALO dinner

for the four of us.

Most likely the last evening will be already fully booked in advance by people having a REAS package. So we will need (most likely) to skip one of the three restaurants.
We don't care, because we know already all of them. YOU CHOOSE!

As for the restaurant rotation, we think that, as we are just adults, we will have TAPT rotation (Triton's, Animator's and then Parrot Cay): we love all of them.

You and Terry decide what restaurant to skip.
We recommend that, in any case, you book a late dining at PALO, so we have more time to enjoy the day.

Laura your post is so right on the money, last Friday I was talking to Terry about the REAS Package so I could book our Palo reservations in advance, so don't give up hope, our last night dinner may still be there.

Oh, I may try and get us a brunch reservation for our day at sea also.

I'm always thinking of ways to get what I want.

Have you and Marco ever had the Spa treatments offered in the REAS Package? This would be a first for Terry and myself, wish me luck.

If I can't talk him into the REAS Package. I'll try for our first night, that way if we do have T/A/P/T then we will still enjoy all three. But I really want Palo on our last night.
