August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

As of yesterday, you can pre-book everything on DCL's website. You can even download your documents and pre-register the kids in the clubs. They still don't have the spa reservations available automatically, but you can enter requests, and they will get back to you. Not all of the spa services are listed online, either.
They have posted a list of when you are allowed to book. Whether it's at the 90 day mark, 75, or whatever.

Actually, I'm only guessing at the Formal/Semi-formal based on the other 7 night cruises. Night One..casual, Night Two...semi, Three...casual, Four....tropical, Five....casual, Six...formal....

Stacey, Can you book on DCL's website if your ressie is with a TA? We booked on board but then transfered to our TA later. Before we did we could access our info on the DCL site but now we can't. I had read about booking on line but I assumed that would only be if you could access your ressies on DCL.

Kazu, love your picture!
Vickie

Vickie, I've been on the site a couple of times today and I booked thru a TA. Now eveyone can see their ressie no matter where it was booked. I was able to change my address and put in my Castaway Club number.
They have changed the look of the entire site.

Jenny....how wonderful! It makes my heart ache to miss all that!
We'll just have to squeeze in as much as we can in August.
Don't forget the celebration runs thru the end of 2006. I KNOW you will be back there before the end of next year. :flower:

I just went to the DCL site and answered my own question. I have Palo dinner and brunch and a couples massage booked. Now I'm really getting excited!
Vickie

I just went to the DCL website and there it was, telling me I can't book Brynee's dolphin swim until :sad2: 75 days out. I thought it was 90! Oh well, I hope there is a spot available for her to go. I don't think I can wait 2 more weeks!

I have a private horseback ride excursion booked for Stone Island on PV. We'll be riding with Randi's Happy Horses.

I think I'll book a Palo ressie for 2 people for brunch and maybe I can find someone to go with me ;)

Is it really going on for that long?? Let me think...end of '06.... I could do summer of '06.....

Jenny, we'll be going to Stone Island....I'll check on Randi's for you. I've read some reviews that aren't too favorable. But, as we all know, there just is no pleasing some people. So I don't always believe everything I read.

Cool! Shared a T.O.P. with Barb!!!!!!

Stacey - Thanks and if you are close to Victor's can you check on that eating place? That is where Randi's stops for lunch and banana boats can be rented there. Cruise Critic threads have been favorable for Randi's but I would like to know what you hear or see. I know Brynée will love the ride but I have also read that horses can be rented right on the beach. DH wants us to do organized excursions as opposed to just grabbing a water taxi.

"1st night at sea - formal
puerto vallarta night - pirate
cabo night - semi formal

all other nights are the regular casual dinners"

This was posted on the Cruise forum by someone who booked REAS by phone. Has anyone else seen this schedule anywhere :confused3 ??

I hadn't seen that, Jenny...but I could maybe call and find out. I did promise the gal that I talk to that I wouldn't bother her again. She's had a ton of calls since DCL changed their website.
I probably messed up on asking for the rotation that I asked for. I was looking at some recent navigators and they have formal night on the first day at sea, just like you said, Jenny. Nuts. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to deal with being dressed up in Parrot Cay!!

I'll take a look at Victor's.
I totally understand booking with the ship. If Stone Island weren't close enough to swim back to the ship if I needed to, we may not do it either.
But since we take island trips a lot, we're used to scouting things to do and going on our own. There are some places, though, where you're better off doing the ship's tours....better safe than sorry.

Jenny, I saw the schedule on another thread and yes it matched what you said for semi formal and pirate night and formal night was listed as Sunday (at sea) night. I chose my Palo ressie based on this schedule.

Jenny thanks for the link to the new Visa cards. I may have to call and get the castle. I wonder if you have 2 cards linked to your account do you have to get 2 of the same cards. I know DH would like a different card than the castle.

Barb: I called and requested the castle card and they said DH's card would have to be the same style. I also requested a card for Brynée (not that she'll use it but will have in case of emergencies etc). I wonder if the old card is still active even after the new card is issued? I'll have to check it out. Also, Barb, what type of Longaberger items are you selling? Liners or maybe baskets? I like the size of the "beachcomber" basket that I bought a few years ago...it holds 2 rolls of tp in my DDs bathroom and I need to find another.

The weather is finally nice today; the "winter storm" has left us but another is expected! Brynée is taking the SATs right now :earseek: !

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day :flower: !

GOOD LUCK BRYNEE!

Arrggghhhh.....I can't decide between the castle and Mickey!!!
Jenny.....usually when they issue a new card, the "security code" on the back changes, but the number is the same.....usually. If the card isn't expired and the number is the same, I'd say the "old" card is still good.

I still can't decide which one I want. If the card doesn't expire for a couple of years.....the 50th will be over....and I wonder if I'll get tired of looking at the same logo.....darn it. I hate choices.

I wonder if the bad weather in California is heading our way???
I need good weather until after the 11th of June, please!

Stacey: I would go for the card you want now, and then when you get tired of it, just call and change it to another style! They don't seem to mind people calling and changing!! I just thought it would be a :cool1: collectible to have especially because it is a limited edition.

Jenny, thanks for the info on the credit card. I guess we will both have to have the castle card. I want that one since its a limited edition.
I am selling both liners and baskets and other assorted things that I had when I was a consultant. I overbought on some things, one reason I wanted to get out of selling (I didn't make any money), also I have decided to downsize my collection.
Sorry I don't have the basket you are looking for, I use that one for a purse.

Then I remembered that the lady who called me on Friday gave me a phone number (supposedly concierge) to call to make reservations. Spa, Palo, shore excursions, dining preference, etc.
I called the number, and they got us on the excursion to Las Caletas. I didn't want any spa ressies....but she did book Palo Brunch for us....I thought they only did brunch on Sundays....it's on each day at sea. We also don't want to have dinner at Palo. Jay likes to stay "loyal" to our dining room servers. (Don't ask)
But she got me the dining rotation I wanted ....APL....I want to be in Lumiere's for formal night. And the table that I wanted. We are going to sit along the wall, by the windows, so we can see the entire dining room and not have anyone behind us.

Stacey - I'm mystified. DH and I have been on several cruises and have never even considered doing half the things that you've done - booking reservations ahead for special dining, spa ressies, requesting specific dining room seating, etc. Were you able to do these things by just a phone call because you booked a cabin on the concierge level? We've never cruised concierge before either. Will those of us in the lowly cat 10 cabins ;) be able to make these requests ahead of time?

Oh...forgot...the Gold Mickey ears ......the Mickey Mouse ear caps that you can get and have your name embroidered on? They have them in gold for the 50th. I think they are kind of ugly. When you click that link, they had been coming up on the first page....but now they aren't, sorry. They are under the category "Accessories"

Boy, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't find them anywhere.:confused3 Under accessories, it's not the baseball cap, right?
