August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

You guys are the best!:cool1: I would have never figured out that Disney had new Visa cards available. I'm going to call ASAP and get one of the LE cards if they are still available....

Have a WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY everyone!!:flower:

Eve, with the way DCL has their new website set up, everyone will be able to book things in advance, just at different points in time. 90 days out, 60, etc.

We've always had a Cat 2 or 3, but this is the first time that I knew that there was someone I could call and set things up with ahead of time.
I'd always heard concierge contacts you ahead of time, but they never have contacted us.
At Christmas & for Megan's wedding, we had large groups, so I met someone who worked in Group reservations, and she steered me to the gal who takes care of dining.
I don't know if non-concierge can call and request a rotation. I don't see why you couldn't. I'd either call my TA, or Disney reservations. Other than online, I know that you have to be concierge to book the furthest in advance. But at this point, I'm only 27-28 days from sailing....so I didn't get to book anything in advance. Without concierge, we wouldn't have gotten to go on the excursion we wanted.

I'm going to try to post the link to the mouse ears directly...http://www.mouseshoppe.com/product.cfm?ProductID=6472

See if that works....

Thanks Stacy - I agree with you, the golden ears are kinda weird looking.:confused3

Alright, I got on the DCL site again and put in my res number which worked this time. We are in cabin 1049. Wow - that's waaaaay down at the bottom of the ship! Guess we won't have much motion down there....lol. At least we're close to the stairs and right by the medical center. :rotfl:

I'm going to take my Mother's Day kinda off (I'm actually on call this weekend :sad1:) and play around on the DCL site some more and see what I come up with. I see we're still second dinner seating which I'm not sure will work very well with my kids.

I had so many posts to catch up on! Thanks for letting me know to go to DCL website and make my reservations. My TA had said that Disney would call him 15 days prior to the cruise to get my preferences but that is very late. I have the REAS package but it didn't mention that anywhere on My Cruise. I booked a Palo Brunch, Dinner and Couples Massage and I hope they hook that to the REAS pkg for whatever should be included with that so I don't have to pay (especially for the massage).

I don't remember what we were doing about hooking our dining reservations. I think I PM'd our reservation number to Stacey, but now you aren't going with us. Was anyone else linked with us for 2nd seating? Last time we were alone at a table and I'd really like to be with people this time. It would be great for Jess if she was with/near another girl. Last time she didn't want to come to dinner much.

Cathy, I had PM'd our # to Stacey also. Sara is a little younger than Jess if I remember correctly (she'll be 12 in Sept) but I think our dining reservations should be linked. We were alone at our table last time too but had 9 year old twins right next to us that Sara made friends with but Kenney wasn't too happy at dinner time. We made him eat with us but let him leave as soon as he was finished. The night we went to Palo the twins parents had Palo reservations at almost the same time as us so my 2 and the twins went to dinner together and sat at one table (suggested the night before by our servers) and they had a great time.

OMG!!!!! RUN - DON'T WALK - to Walgreen's!!!!! Check your Sunday ad on the very back page - they are selling Energizer 8 packs of AA batteries for only $3.99 and they come with one of five collectible Disney pins for the Happiest Celebration on Earth. I went to our Walgreens this morning and bought ALL of them. My sister is at Walgreens right now buying all the ones at her store. What a fantastic deal!! More info in just a sec....

OK, here's the ad:

....BUT ~ can you believe it?? Our Walgreens didn't have ANY of the Mickey/Minnie pins! I bought 14 packs and didn't get a single Mickey! :confused3 I'm hoping that my sister is able to get some - she's buying some 30 or more of them from her store in the Dallas area.:jumping1:

I have 2 Goofy pins, 3 Cindy pins, 5 Peter, and 4 Tink pins....:hyper:

I'm guessing that means you can't see what's inside the package until you open it??
I've discovered that here in our town, not many people are Disney fans, so I bet I'll be able to grab a bunch. And we go through batteries like crazy....so at least I'll be buying something useful.

I had not called and linked reservations yet....it was too early. But you can do it now. Anyone who wants to dine together, PM eachother with your ressie # and names.....and one of you needs to call DCL....the regular reservation phone number or Castaway Club phone number and just tell them "We are cruising with friends and we want to be linked for dining". If you have a problem, let me know and I can PM you a different phone number (to be used only in emergencies as these....LOL)

Thanks for pointing this out Eve!! I saw the ad yesterday and totally missed seeing the batteries! My DH is on his way - hopefully I'll end up w/a Tink pin. I have a lanyard full of Tinks. There are some threads about late seating vs. early and a lot of people seem to like late even with younger kids. They seem to think the kids are more awake for the early shows - they just feed snacks/lite dinner to the kids before the shows.

Happy Mother's Day Everyone!!

Sorry, didn't mean that you couldn't see the pin - it's right in the front of the package so you can see what you are getting. I went to Walgreens and picked one of each design, then two, then decided - awwww, heck, I'll just buy them all and trade the ones I don't want (or I know they'd go well on ebay). ;)

Is there anyone who's willing to take care of the dining "link"? We'd be interested in linking with you all too and I'll PM our ressie number to anyone who might be able to do that. I'm not a good person to try and call anyone during business hours.... How many will they let sit at one table??

Warm wishes for a wonderful Mother's Day. I was awakened (to lots of whispering by the door) and served breakfast in bed (toast with peanut butter and OJ, lol). Lots of flowers, plants, and cards. The kids each filled out a homemade "My Mother" booklet....here are a couple excerpts from DS' book (5 years old):

My mother is......."a person".

My mother is most happy when....."I get done".

If no one else can link the ressies I will. Only problem is that being on the West Coast I am 3 hours later than everywhere I would be calling so it means having to allow calling time in the morning while getting ready for work because its too late when I get home.
So if no one else volunteers in the next couple of days PM me your ressie info and I will call.

Eve, Your breakfast in bed brings back memories..... the runny half cooked scrambled eggs that got discreetly flushed down the toilet before the kids got back with the newspaper (they must have thought I was REAL hungry), the Mother's Day I woke up with a migraine and the thought of scrambled eggs (cooked this time) was sooo nauseating! Luckily Grandma had come over early to help them cook and she ate them for me! And then there was the microwaved coffee from the day before! Now they're too busy sleeping in themselves to consider making breakfast for Mom! They did each make me keychains (coincidence, not planned) and picked out 2 nice pairs of PJ's for me.
Hope everyone else had a great day.

My Mother's Day was nice. Jess slept in but Steve made me a wonderful dinner (just finished it) with chicken cordon bleu, bruchetta bread and a baked potato. I had lunch with my parents at their house (we got meatball grinders at a local restaurant take-out). Yes, my celebrating is always with food unfortunately...

Eve, you are very good at scanning things onto the computer, that is so cool to be able to do. I have the technology, I just need to practice sometime. I need a week off work when everyone else isn't home to do things like that. As it is I spend way too much time on the computer and housework gets behind. I actually enjoyed cleaning today (DH and DD did a lot too) and getting things accomplished, but it just gets dirty again so fast.

Cathy

Vickie - I can't wait for my kids to get to that sleeping in stage (I'm sure I'll regret saying that later, lol). ;) They know how to work the toaster and that's it! They really do know me well, lol, at least they didn't fix me a Toaster Strudel (blech).

Cathy - I just LOVE technology. I also finally got around to putting some new ringtones on my Treo this weekend and I'm lovin' it. Now that I've found another hosting service (Ripway), I can upload a lot more pictures and link to it. To give you an idea of me and technology.....to get ready for the Black Friday sales last Thanksgiving, I scanned all the store ads and cut/paste them onto a few pages, printed them out and took them with me so that I knew exactly what I needed to get at each store. I went with our au pair and we hit 6 stores in less than 3 hours. :hyper2: :hyper: :rotfl:

Our Walgreen's doesn't have them! :(

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!! I got to relax and enjoy....for most of the day. Then we took Jared to buy new shoes and pants for the cruise. He grew way too much since the Christmas cruise!

Vickie, it took me a second, but I see what you're saying about calling DCL to link the reservations. I ould have loved to have done it, I'm sorry!!
