August 6, 2005 Mexican Riviera..Who's In?

Life is even more complicated for Barb and I, we have to say "My Jay" and "Your Jay"!

Definitely VERY wonderful news of the new baby!! :Pinkbounc

Our little baby doves were encouraged by their Mama to fly the nest. And now she is preparing to lay more eggs. That seemed to go so fast! I have pics of every stage. They were right out on my kitchen window ledge.
My Jay thinks that doves have the right idea (he's mean!)........shove them out of the nest the minute they're old enough! :headache:

Forgot about that. Does that mean we can swap them and not know which one we are with?!? :earseek:

I don't see anything wrong with that.....at times.

It's late, I better get to bed before I say something that will really get me in trouble.

Jenny, I got your PM and gave it to Jess and sent her SN to you. Before I read your explanation I asked Jess and she said a Xanga is a Blog (web log). I only learned what that was a few weeks ago. How do they learn all this!

My sister leaves for her cruise tomorrow! Maybe I could stow away!

OK - Can I brag a little? :cool1: DD and DS had the day off school today for parent/teacher conferences. We got DD's Iowa test scores back today. She's in 2nd grade and tested at the 7th grade reading/vocab/comprehension level! :earseek: Her "worst" score was in math - she only tested at the 3rd grade. ;) DS didn't do shabby considering his listening problem (and slight "authority" problem as the teacher put it, lol) - he's in kindergarten and read 12 pages last semester. This semester, he read 320 pages! Ok, ok my children are BRILLIANT! :teeth: I think this new Montessori school they are at is working out just fine (they attended a Catholic school last year which was a little too....well.....Catholic for us).... I'm a proud proud Mama today! OK, I take back everything I said about the kid swap....:rotfl:

Congratulations Eve you have something great to brag about!

Hope everyone's doing well. I haven't felt great this week but I think I'm about over whatever little bug I've had.
Vickie

Wow Eve :Pinkbounc Tell you kids "great job :cheer2: " for us.

Cathy: Brynee has put Jessica on her "buddy list." I just realized there is that 3 hour time difference they'll have to deal with. Brynee has to complete homework before she gets online to "talk" which puts her at about 8:00 - that's too late for Jessica. Maybe they can connect on a weekend!

Brynee will have her belated birthday party tomorrow night; but fortunately no sleepover as she has a tennis match Saturday morning. Then, she has to get organized with her "prom" to do list...she's off to the prom on the 30th! Saving a little money though as she has decided to wear one of older DD's dresses :goodvibes Wish me luck...these milestone moments stress me out :earseek:

:cool1: Yea, Eve!! Congrats! :Pinkbounc Outstanding!!!

I don't blame you, I'd brag too! Sadly, I rarely get the opportunity to brag about academics with my kids. Jared got 2nd place in the school geography bee last year....that was a highlight.
For him, it's usually sports achievements and for Jordan it's dance and singing. Which is all wonderful, but golly, I wish they'd strive for better grades!!

Vickie, sorry you haven't felt well.....it's been a long winter/spring with way too many flu bugs! Feel better!!!

Speedy healing vibes to you, Vickie ~

I'm working this weekend so might not be online much. Hope everyone has a good one!

Well, that's something to be very proud of! I couldn't do it, that's for sure. Geography and history are my absolute WORST subjects. DH laughs at me because I can't remember when WWI and WWII were. Hey, at least I knew that WWI came before WWII. ;)

:bday: to Brynee - hope she has a fabulous party and prom!

Thanks Eve - Brynee had a great party! Because she didn't want to use a party room at the park, they gave everyone in the party unlimited use wristbands so they did miniature golf, bumper boats and the batting cages  (Does anyone remember those "air bumper boats" that were at DL?? - many, many years ago!!) DH and I golfed and batted...we ended up with wristbands 'cuz 2 girls couldn't make it.

:sad2: Probably no prom now for DD. After she booked a hair appt, her BF was told he would probably have to work that day as everyone was asking for the day off - all 4 high schools do a combined prom. Brynee is OK with it and so am I ;) as she is a little young - her BF is a junior. She'll still have 2 more times to make it to prom before she graduates!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! The weather here is finally "Spring :sunny: "

That sounds like MY kind of logic!!

Poor Brynee.....glad she's taking it well. I had a similar thing happen when I was a Sophomore. BF was a junior, played baseball....he broke his leg the night before prom. I was devastated at the time, but there were still 2 more proms for me. That I ended up not going to by choice! LOL

Of course! I forgot about the time difference. I can PM her email too, she just said she doesn't check it that much, all her friend IM but she can check for Brynee's email periodically. That might be easier with the time difference.

Cathy: Brynee has Jessica's e-mail and will send a quick note soon.

Stacey: That sure was a traumatic prom experience :sad1: you had. Mine wasn't much better...my BF at the time said that we would eventually look back onto all that went wrong (car battery died, showed up at the restaurant to find there was a major wedding reception and we couldn't have dinner etc) and we would :rotfl: ; but, I still don't think it was funny :sad2: Brynee is fine as she knows it will save money for her BF and none of her close friends were going anyway as they are also sophomores.

Hi everyone, I found this new countdown timer that counts days, hours etc. that's what I missed from the old one. If you want one click on the link at the bottom of my post!

Thank you Vickie! That is what I was missing too, the broader one seemed meaningless :confused3

She did get an IM and an email last night, she was answering back when I went to bed. Thank you so much, I think they have things in common. They may both be in a play the weekend before we leave. I am glad Brynee likes Disney. Last cruise Jess bought a songbook of all Disney songs which she loves to sing. She was going to do a Pocahontas song for a talent show but it got cancelled. :sad2:

Cathy

Vickie thank you so much for posting the countdown site. I missed the actual number of days too. My first ticker is set for the day we leave home and the timer is set for the day we board. I like seeing the days rather than the months, it doesn't seem as long that way. :sunny:
