August 30th 2009 - 4 night Wonder

Carys,

My wife is labeling the FE gifts and we realized we still need your stateroom number. Let us know when you can... Thanks! :cool1:

I believe that she is waiting until we board the ship...I guess that she can give it to us at the DISmeets or she can give us her cabin number in our FEs. I just labeled her items with her user name...:upsidedow

This can also happen if someone gets an upgrade at the port...we have been notified in our FE about someone's new cabin number that way...:thumbsup2

THanks for the pirate welcome. I will be at the welcome party at 3.

= Well, I am REALLY GETTING EXCITED:cheer2:
Counting down the days, getting my clothes together and planning my door magnets.
This is my third cruise and my main worry is always being afraid of weather delaying my plane and missing the boat! So far the weather looks like it is going to be great for us. If you go to www.weather.com you can get the 10 day forecast and it looks like smooth sailing - I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
This is the first time I'm doing a 4 nighter and am looking forward the a day at sea, I've never done that! and the PIRATE party is just the best fun

Hi, I am from up North as well. This is my first cruise..unsure of what goes on there?? What is all the talk about magnets and FE?????
I am celebrating my 15th wedding anniv....
Oh, did someone say RUM???

I wonder, disney is mostly for kids. Mine are not going, so is there stuff going on for adults too. My kids are older so I am not up for the whole screaming thing that goes along with family vacations.

pirate: Welcome to the "Plenty o' Rum n Parlay 4 None" crew! pirate:

Congratulations on the 15th wedding anniversary! Mine is coming up this December and we have been celebrating all year! :goodvibes

If you go back through some of our posts you will see that many are cruising without children. Disney is the best for cruising and you will find plenty to do for adults! :thumbsup2

As far as the "magnets" that you have been reading about...many on these DISboards choose to create personalized magnets and print them out in order to hang on their stateroom doors. If you just look at the main cruise boards you will see many posts about magnets. Here is a picture of some of ours from our last cruise:

The "FEs" that you have seen mention require a little more explaining...here is the short of it...many DISers hang a wall organizer or Fish Extender (FE) of some sort outside of their stateroom door on this fish. These DISers sign-up for the FE exchange on their DISmeets boards (like this one). Then the DISers bring gifts to put into each others FE sometime during the cruise. It is sort of like a trick or treat thing...but in reverse! Here is a picture of our FE:

princess: I hope that some of this information is helpful to you! By the way...my crew will be loud...with 4 children (9,10,12,12)...no screamers though...you might want to go the opposite direction when you see us coming!!! :scared1:

Again...welcome to our crew and welcome to the DISboards!!!

You are next door (or across the hall) from my future inlaws, and down the passageway from us, we are in 6060

:wizard: DisneyDreamerK/Kristina - I was wondering if you could add a few names to our crew list...some of them I do not have much information for...but wanted to make sure that they were added to the non-FE section...Thanks! ;) Here goes...

:guilty: I need to apologize to Truck1...:surfweb: after going back through many posts I finally found that you did not cancel your cruise...it was someone else. Also...apparently the crew list that I used to cut and paste...did not include your information...so you did not make our newest list from Kristina...Anyhow...all is well and I am glad to see that you have checked into this board again! :cutie:

pirate: This is just an update for all...our DISmeets will be held on Sunday, August 30th at 3:00PM in the Promenade Lounge...located on the third deck near Parrot Cay. We hope to see everyone there! :yay:It will be great to put faces with names!!! :thumbsup2

I know i sound a little lame with the whole screaming kids thing, dont get me wrong, i love kids and have a very large family, i am just hoping for some r & r with my honey!
Fyi: My nieces and nephews literaly scream for attention, hence the phrase in my last post!

We are excited to meet new people and friends along our voyage to sea.

Thats ok, I am used to being overlooked :D j/k. Had a problem with the program that was used. It didnt agree with my computer. Fixed now.
At the rate we are going this year, wild horses couldnt keep us away.
We are staying the night before in PC at the Country Inn, watch the Magic leave from one of the seafood rest, and heading to the terminal about 10amish. Or whenever the first bus is.

Well be at the meeting at 3.

:umbrella: It is raining cats and dogs here on the east coast of Virginia! I believe that we are catching some of the outer bands of Bill with a cold front that is pushing through. Hopefully this will be the worst of our weather for the next week or two! After looking at weather.com...I am really happy with the projected forecasts! :beach: Looks like some great cruising and beach weather headed our way for the cruise! :thumbsup2

Hey truck1...do you know the names of any of those restaurants that are on the oceanfront where you can view the ships leaving? We have never done that before and it sounds like it would be a lot of fun! :sail:

Also...we have a few groups of us staying at the Radisson the night before and heading over to the port at 10. Looks like it might be a party at the port!!! party:

Anyhow...we are all geared up for this vacation...let the laundry/packing begin! :laundy:

Got some good news today, I was on the waiting list for early dinner and got it. I planned some of my excursions for early in the day - what kind of excursions have you all booked?
We got plenty of rain and thunder yesterday and the clouds are moving in as we speak, just making me more anxious for the cruise.
I am glad to have a room mid ship (and the company of the future in-laws)- I get motion sick which prevented me from cruising in the first place, but found no problem on the disney cruise, ofcourse, i do get loaded up on dramamine, ginger pills, ginger ale and wrist bands.

Anne Marie

Well here we are all packed 4 hours to sleep then the long journey to Orlando .:yay:We should leave 6 am Orlando time and arrive about 4 in the afternoon.:dance3:
We live on the south coast in the UK so takes a couple of hours to the airport then a little shopping when we get there.
we will see you all at 3 oclock next Sunday .:banana::banana:
Hope you all have a Happy week and a good journey .
Janet:thumbsup2

pirate: Janet - See you next Sunday for "Plenty o' Rum n Parlay 4 None!" Safe travels!!! pirate:

:cheer2: Congratulations on First Dining Anne Marie! :cheer2: Once we get our chart updated...that information can be added to it...Also wanted to mention that my crew takes Dramamine every evening for sea-sickness! On our first cruise we traveled with another family...none of them got sea-sick...and my entire crew (thankfully we caught it early enough) had to take Dramamine...:confused3 it's really interesting that some get affected by the ocean and others do not...

pirate: As far as excursions...we have the Comfort Suites booked in order to get entrance into Atlantis - my kids are really excited about this! We have nothing booked for Castaway Cay...to be honest...in April we ended up back on the ship quite early and really enjoyed the ship being empty...so we will see what happens at CC this time...it could end up into an all day snorkel and swim...or...we could party on the ship! :dance3:

Yes I do. We are looking at 3 different ones. I think we were leaning towards Rustys but Id have to double check with the boss. I know one of the 3, when the Disney ships pass usually gets a horn salute as she passes. I saw it somewhere and have to look it up again.

The 3 rest are Rustys,Grills Seafood and Tiki bar and Fishlips

I am going to look in a minute for the thread and see if I can find it before it drives me nuts. (Yes its a short trip.)

Found it.

The 2 rest mentioned, (it was on another board) Was Rustys and Grills.

Grill had multiple posts about the food and also the view. Ill find out for sure which one we are going to on Tues when I see the future inlaws to finalize our plans.

:thanks: Thanks truck1 for the restaurant information...now all I have to do is figure out which one to go to? :thumbsup2
