August 30th 2009 - 4 night Wonder

I asked when I called to book the cruise and they told me that all the tips were included.

We have always had to pay the tips on the cruise, however; we have never been on a free cruise or used DVC points in order to cruise. I do know that inside our cruise documents we did get the page on tipping and such...did you happen to get that in your packet? Not sure if that would shed some light on the issue...:confused3 I wonder if your TA or DCL could tell you if tips had already been paid? It should show up somewhere on your account. :upsidedow

On another note, it looks like there are quite a few of us that are from NJ on this cruise. Are you guys from the north or south?

Hello everyone,
from southwestern area of NJ...just came across this website...thanks for all information! This will be our second DCL cruise since Feb/Mar 2002 (7-night Magic). Also this will be our fourth straight year driving to Florida...love it! (we usually leave on Saturday 6am to avoid traffic in DC/Virginia area).

FYI. a great website for I-95 exit services from Maine to Florida.
i95exitguide dot com (since this is my first post, I cannot post links or images until my post count must be 10 or greater).

:welcome: Welcome myDISboards! :welcome:

Glad that you found us! So you guys must be picking up I-95 a couple of states ahead of us...we get on I-95 at Emporia, Virginia...almost at the North Carolina line. We really like the drive down to Florida, too...it is also great that our cars today have all the electronics for the kids! :thumbsup2 We are leaving Virginia on Friday the 28th so that we can spend some time in Cocoa Beach before cruising.

pirate: I just wanted to let you know that we will be having a DISmeets onboard the Wonder on the 30th at 3:00PM in the Promenade Lounge (located on the third deck near Parrot Cay.) Please come by and say hello!

princess: Again, welcome to the DISboards and our August 30th DCL cruise! Crystal

Hi all
Well we leave on Sunday:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:
Finished the final door magnets so much choice .I still have to put our cabin number on the back so they will not get stolen.
FEs finished .:woohoo:
Carys we still do not have your cabin number ?:confused3

I am sure you are all getting excited now like us .:dance3:
If you did not know this is our first cruise .
We have been watching the weather but a little to early to see for the cruise .
Happy Tuesday all.Janet

This is our first cruise too...should be a blast. My wife is putting together some cool FE gifts - can't wait to hand them out!

:sail::sail::sail: You all are going to have a blast on this cruise! I am so excited for all of you new folks to cruising! Plus adding in that Disney magic...you are in for a time of your life...so get ready!!! :cutie:

:3dglasses As far as those tropical storms go...Bill, the current hurricane, should be out of the cruising area by early next week...so I am not worried about him. I have attempted to locate any other tropical waves coming off of Africa, but have not found any yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the weather holds out great for our cruise! :thumbsup2

pirate: As far as Carys cabin number...I believe that she will be getting that to us once we are on the ship. I have just labeled all of her FE items with her user name...and will put the cabin number on it while onboard.

princess: Like the rest of you...my magnets are finished...my FE gifts are in order...I just haven't quite figured out how I am going to pack all of them...and we are ready to cruise!

:yay: Have a great day! Crystal

Hopefully the weather is good for us...from what I hear though, even if there is a bad storm, the cruise ship diverts. Worse case scenario we are on a disney ship for 4 days, with all you can eat food, a spa, pool, sports bar, and lots of sunshine....bummer! ;-)pirate:

How should we dress for the evening dinners?

Also, do we have to bring beach towels of are the supplied?

According to one of the disney cruise travel books we read (passporter series), there is a dress code for the dinners. However... nowhere in any cruise documentation I have received from Disney does it say anything about a dresscode. From what the book says a shirt and tie is required at Palo for the men and a dress for the women. Pirate night is of course pirate garb. They recommend business casual to semi formal for the other dinners on the cruise. I will be wearing a tie for palo, and probably polos and slacks for the other dinners. If I had my way, however, I would adopt the Hawaii method and wear shorts and a hawaiian shirt the whole trip... Maybe I'm weird but I hate dressing up when I am on vacation...

:dance3: Here's another "Yay!" for the 10 days away!!! :dance3:

:laundy: As far as the dress code...my crew is wearing the polo shirt with the khaki slacks each evening...except for pirate night...I am wearing the black capris with something on top each night. We do not have Palo booked...so no worries with that. My crew is with BDJazz on the clothes issue...dressing up for vacation is just no fun. :sad2: Also to note...you will see every kind of dress for the evenings on this 4 day cruise...some will show up for dinner in shorts...others might be wearing a full suit...:confused3

Happy Wednesday to All!
Crystal :cool2:

Tia: All right! But if you're going to brave the weird and haunted shores at World's End, then you will need a captain who knows those waters.

Hi Everyone, I am from Philadelphia and traveling solo on the cruise - this is my 3rd Disney cruise and I decided at the last moment to come aboard.
Looking forward to meeting new friends and joining in on excursions - booked the Aquaventure at Atlantis and kayaking/walking tour at Castaway!!
I have my magnets ready, pirate shirts packed, photos of my shihtzu, Jack Sparrow and my little yorkie, Tia Dalma and I'm ready for some RUM!!!!pirate:

pirate: Welcome to the Crew IamAnniM! pirate:

Not sure how far back you have read on this board, but wanted to let you know that we have our DISmeets scheduled for Sunday, August 30th at 3:00PM in the Promenade Lounge located on the third deck near Parrot Cay. Please feel free to stop by and say "hello!" :)

Again, it's great to have you sailing with our "Plenty o' Rum n Parlay 4 None" crew! pirate:
