Trying to decide which time would be better to go. Last week in August or the last week in October.

I understand it is hot/humid at the end of August & possibilities of rain. Also, seems it will be LESS crowded (?) at the end of August than at the end of October due to MNSSHP and Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

Are my thoughts correct? Which would you suggest?

I would go the end of October. The weather is cooler. I can't compare the crowds, since I've never been there the end of August, but I would image it's less crowded the end of October.

Something to keep in mind, the schools in Minnesota have three days off the third week in October every year due to MEA break (Minnesota Education Association, which has it's annual conferences). So, alot of families take the whole week off and head down to WDW. We have gone in the past and it seems busy that week but the store clerks in downtown disney have told us that January and October are traditionally slow months.

We have tried different weeks in October, November and December and have found the first week in December to have the smallest crowds. FYI.

The crowds will be a toss up at this two times. I've done both and found the last week of August to win by a photo finish. However, it's so hot and humid that five minutes waiting for Haunted Mansion might do you in. The weather in October is much nicer and less chance of rain.

My opnion of weather is based on a lifetime of living in New England, YMMV.
