This is my first cruise on DCL. I want to visit Meaghan's Bay but can't seem to afford this excursion for my whole family. I saw someone write that you could go on your own. I'm scared that if I get there I will not be able to get a taxi back. Can someone give me some advise. thank you

Someone posted to me about tagging along if we go on our own to Coral World (sorry, I don't remember who). We are now leaning toward doing the DCL excursion. It looks to be either $10 more or possibly even cheaper (there is a family admission rate on online but I am not sure if that is available at the door) than going on our own and we won't have to worry about the taxi. Not 100% sure yet though.

I meant to post much earlier, but you know how it is, I assume....I didn't get to see what people are planning because now there's lots of weather reports (understandable!)....

This is our second Disney cruise. The first was our honeymoon on the Wonder last year (4-night), so this is our first anniversary cruise. Woo hoo!! We are way Disney folks, having had our wedding at the Disneyland Hotel last year, and the full honeymoon was Disneyland, WDW, and DCl (and then WDW again...). Just so you know how we are...

Try as I might, I never manage to find the fish extender info, so I don't know if we'll have one.... And what's the story with the bracelets? Is Cigy7 all out of the newest 200 yet? I have too few posts to pm, so I figured I'd ask here!

I hope I get to meet some of you other DIS people! There's a meet at 3pm on sail day, did I read that right?

Anyone considering doing the Castaway 5K? I'm thinking about walking it, running is not a good option for me.

I am It depends on a few things for me. #1, how hot it is. #2 if I can get up and ready that early #3 If I can get back into running 3 miles. That is the biggest one. I had gotten there and now I am at 2.4 but only going once a week. I am a SLOW runner (takes me 40 minutes to do the 2.4) so that matters too. If I do run it, my 10 year old is going to do it also. We haven't run a 5K together yet, so I am not sure if she will slow down for me or meet me back at the boat when she is done!

I am new to this board and new to cruise on DCL. I saw a bunch of you were going to Magens Bay. I wanted to go myself but couldn't buget in the excursion for my entire family. I did hear of people going without booking it through DCL. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to catch a taxi back to the ship. Could you please tell me if you know how I would go about this. Someone else wrote that they took a taxi and it waited 2 1/2 hours for them. I don't think I want to do that. Thank for helping

Welcome to the group. Unfortunately, you missed the FE by a few days, we closed the list on Aug 9th since some people were leaving early and needed to get their gifts done before they left. You are welcome to join us at the meet, which we are planning on doing by the Goofy pool at 3pm. Cigy7 had ordered bracelets for a lot of us, unfortunately he is out of the adult sizes now and only has youth sizes left. So if you see a bunch of people standing around together with white rubber bracelets, or just one guy with quite a few on his arm trying to make a fashion statement, that will be our group. I can add you to the disfriends list, which is just people who will be popping in at the meet! Let me know if you would like to be added to that list, I am about to repost as someone new has joined.
