August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

My docs were delivered from UPS (says 3-day select delivery). When I spoke to DCL yesterday they stated that they had been mailed out on Wed and I should get them Monday. So definitely within the 3-day timeframe. Not sure if this matters or not but I booked mine through DVC but the docs came from DCL. I would say everyones is going in the mail this week.

I also booked through DVC, so hopefully I'll get mine today!!!!!

Can't wait to get docs in my anxious little hands!!!

We're supposed to have a postcard arriving soon from someone on an earlier cruise. Debating on letting it be the announcement to my kids when it arrives or bringing it with me in the car to hand them as we get close. I've made it this long...

Waltworshiper: We will be at the Radisson Thursday and Friday night also. I was going to stay at La Quinta but finally made up my mind for the Radisson. We're going to Grill's Thursday night for dinner to watch the Wonder leave. Maybe we will see you there. I have 2 teenage boys and an 11 year old, so watch for us and we can make introductions!

We will be at the Radisson on Friday...perhaps a pre-cruise drink by the pool on friday...anyone else in?
I have DD 13; DD 11; DS 7
:drinking1

We have 3 boys 11, 10, and 7. We aren't sure yet what we are doing Thursday, I was thinking about Grills, but don't know for sure yet. Regardless, we will be somewhere the boys can see the Wonder sail off. My boys should have figured it out by then (It still remains a surprise at this point they think they are going to the beach) that we are going on the cruise, since we stayed at the Radisson before the last trip. If not seeing the Wonder sail off would be a great time to tell them they will be on the Magic that Saturday! My stepson and wife are flying in Thurs at 6:00pm, so I don't know if we will have to wait until late to eat when they finally arrive, or if we will do dinner, then just pick them something up later when they get there, they are taking a shuttle to the hotel. I am pretty easy to spot, if you see a pooh sized woman with lt brown- blonde very curly shoulder length hair, toting around 3 boys two brown haired, and one highly active blonde, and a pooh size dh, all the boys with short hair, that would be my family! Thursday we will probably just hang at the pool, but Friday we plan to go to the beach with the kids. Hopefully we can all meet up before hand, Friday evening would probably work for us, let me know!

:cheer2:Just checked the mail here, they were in the door when we got back from Vacation bible school! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I think our cruise filled so quickly because they used a lot of discounts to fill it. I think they had the Kids sail free, FL resident, Military, and I know we got an interline discount since my dh works for an airline. When they come out, the cruise does fill quickly!

Need to do some shopping today.

Gotta hit Sephora, Target, LL Bean for more luggage and the store every man wants to see the receipt from *wink* *wink*.

Then it's off to lunch with the DH and DD.

Enjoy your day!

...the store every man wants to see a receipt...is that the beverage center?!?:rotfl2:

Great to hear from you guys. Can hardly wait to have my 13-year old spend all his time away from us at that teen 'Stack'

Just a heads up...
On the Magic the Stack is now for 14-17 yr olds.
Ages 11-13 are in Ocean Quest.

this is our first cruise and I'm getting a little nervous. I was just at the mall and found two great pair of shoes on sale but DH was with me! He doesn't understand that you need more than one pair of shoes! I'm going to go back later and get them. He agrees that what he doesn't know won't hurt him but since we have two girls that at ages 5 and 7 already love shoes, he might have to just suck it up!

I have seen Grills mentioned in some of The Radisson postings..any other suggestions on a family restaurant close to the Radisson for dinner friday?
We have 3 picky children, and prefer not to do the typical chain restaurants that we could eat at back home.

Would love suggestions

I didn't know they had half those discounts on our cruise. Wish I didn't know, now I wonder if we could have gotten a better rate! lol. (I am pretty sure we couldn't have since we booked onboard last time and have a family of 5 in 2 cat 8s). I was looking for the FL resident rate though to see if my parents could have joined us. I must have missed it.

Surprise them, pull up to the port and tell them you're getting on the Carnival Ship!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Tell your DH he's lucky he's not married to me, I brought 11 pairs of shoes.:rotfl:

Got the cruise docs today!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

It always seems so much more real once the docs are here!:goodvibes

Now I just need to wait for the final tally on the FE list this Sunday and start getting those ready . . .

FYI for anyone going to WDW the week before the cruise, they have opened up more ADR's. Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, Kona, some good stuff! Have at it!

Yep, got ours too!

UPS delivered at about 4:30pm today.:cool1:

DH and I snuck away for an overnight to Atlantic City last night. When we came home we found our docs waiting for us! WOOO HOOO!

No cabin upgrade, but we are totally fine with the sideways cat 11. All we really do is sleep in there anyway.

I hope the ship isnt totally packed. Judging by the availibility of ressies, I'm guessing it is though.

We are both knocking out a lot of overtime to pay for the excursions, shopping, etc... still no final word on whether we will go ziplining or not in St. Maarten.

In reading these posts, I saw someone else wrote in about does anyone have any allergies we should be aware of like nuts... In a response to one of my posts, someone wrote that we are not *allowed* to bring food onto DCL. So I had to come up with a backup plan that I may need to implement. Its hard trying to find a gift that transcends all ages and genders- food is pretty universal!

So we're off to Hershey Park on Sunday... followed by 10 days at home.. then we're off for the long trek down the eastern seaboard!
