August 29th, 2009--Eastern Magic...Let's Get it Started!

What are everyone's plan's for Mother's Day?

We have a family tradition of a cook out on my deck for all the mothers in our family. Its a great time and it looks like the weather will cooperate this weekend:)

Makingscrapbooks... we should really get a Palo dinner together. Usually I can get the private room. Anyone else interested?

Joe, will you cook for me?

Albany has a three day Tulip Festival. I'm taking my daughter and my mom tomorrow. Sunday is usually a catch up on the week day... piles of laundry, dirty dishes... ugh!

Great, I'd love that!!! Keep me posted if you get a group together for the dinner.

I'm not sure what we're doing for Mother's Day yet. My kids and hubby have a surprise planned! :flower3:

I'm still here!!

Just really busy planning and making arrangements for my parent's trip to Italy next month. They are staying in Rome a few days pre and post cruise and it's a lot of work researching stuff for them.

Right after I'm done with their trip, I'll start planning ours. LOL.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

We have First Holy Communions taking place at our church Sunday, so I'll be there helping out, then my family is invited to one of the childrens parties afterward, so the dh gets off easy about dinner this year. :rotfl:

okay....Brace yourselves!

I have broken out the suitcases and started the prepacking with the stuff that I can. you know the stuff...over the door shoe organizer, sweater organizer (works great in the closet for daughter's clothes), already picked up extra shampoo, and other bathroom necessities, broke out the walkie talkies (not sure if we will take them or not...but I don't want the girls using their phones when it will cost big $$$$)

I have been gathering (I feel like I am bunkering down for something when I say that), all the stuff for my DD and DD BF's surprise bags that they will get when they complete their scavenger hunt. I finished the scavenger hunt clues and will print them off later on good cardstock. I have to make their flip flops yet and as soon as I get the designs for their shirts I will be getting them printed.

I have started getting a few ideas for the FE and will have to do them at work so DD won't see them.

Oh and I have been working out to lose some of this weight before the cruise. So far down 34 lbs, hope to lose more by August.

DD has been trying to get her schedule set for the new school year and she has tryouts for her all-star cheer team next week. Ugh, to think the season is starting back up...it just ended April 26.

That's all....Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there. We totally rock.

I sent out a message to the people on the FE list that haven't picked a date yet, to make sure they are still planning on cruising and participating. The latest updated list is on p42 post 617. I know people are starting to gather and or make their gifts and like me, would like to get an idea of the number of people involved. We still have plenty of time and still are taking new people if they wish to join.

Our final payment is in and we are just waiting for that 90 day mark to book our Palo Brunch!!!

Thanks so much for keeping up with this. I am making final payment this Friday!:thumbsup2

When is our 90 day?

When can CC guests book Palo?

I should know this by now!

Not a problem, most people have given me their dates they want to deliver, those who have not still have time. I haven't seen a few of the names post in a while, so I pm'd them today. I know some people don't get into writing on these boards and have only joined the FE, so I figured I'd pm them now, and have some time to get responses back in case they just pop on occasionally to catch up.

Which port has the best shopping:confused3 Trying to find cheaper than U.S. electronics like ipods. Also where can we find the most reasonable jewelry?

Hey guys,
Just wanted to check in and say hello to everyone.
This will be our third Disney cruise (2nd 7 night). We are, myself, DH and DD12, she will actually be 13 by the time we cruise. This is our first Eastern so we are looking forward to hearing about any tips from all those experienced cruisers.

What I have heard is that St. Thomas is the place to buy electronics, designer clothes, etc -- I don't know personally (when we were there in 2007 we just went to the beach!) but I have heard it from several different sources.

Welcome aboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

When I went to the Eastern ports before, we only went to beaches -- and that's what I plan again! I want a nice lazy relaxing vacation . . . :goodvibes

I like shopping in St. Marteen for bling. I have a rockin jeweler who gives us GREAT prices.

St. Thomas has a good reputation for deals, but, I find it pricey compared to StM. StM is smaller and the competition is steep! The last time we were there between two couples we had 55k in jewels if you went by the ticket price (never happens). We walked out paying only a fraction of that. Plus some helpful advice with customs.

We've purchased jewelery in St. Thomas and don't find the deals as good.
We'll beach it in StT.

I can't comment on electronics. We've never purchased them overseas.

If you're looking for alcohol, StM is the place!!!!!

I can't believe we have less than 4 months until we cruise. I just booked our airfare at a great price, I think. $59 each way on Airtran out of Detroit. I'd prefer a closer airport to our home, but couldn't pass up the $59. Also, I reserved the Radisson for 2 nights prior to the cruise. We're flying in Thursday afternoon. Is anyone else staying at the Radisson Thursday or Friday night? Maybe we can meet up at the pool.

We're probably going to be staying there. I keep debating between staying and doing the cruise / parking deal or staying at a Disney resort and paying to park at the port. I'll post a definite once we know for sure. It's looking like the Radisson for at least the 28th.
