Hi all--
Thanks for all of the well wishes. It's a pretty ordinary night here in Tampa Bay so far. Well, ordinary for us at least. The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Pinellas County (us, Clearwater-St. Petersburg) and Hillsborough County (Tampa) are under a Level C Evacuation. Between the two counties the evacuation covers 800,000 people.
Travis and I went to get some supplies earlier today and the stores were packed. I don't think there is a gallon of water or a single C or D battery in the county! Luckily, we were able to stock up on cat food and human food and a few goodies from ABC Liquor.

(Anyone want to join us for a hurricane party?)
Here's a picture of the "water" section from Super Target taken earlier today. Notice the, um, lack of water!
The roads were jammed much earlier in the day but things have died down quite a bit now. Pretty calm and quiet as far as the weather goes too. Generally, we always see really nice conditions when a hurricane is out in the gulf. They tend to suck all the moisture out of the air which gives us a break from the humidity we're so accustomed to! Very quite out there now with no wind or anything.
I guess they are predicting that the hurricane will make landfall around 2 P.M. tomorrow or so. Travis gets the day off as everything is closed and boarded up around here.
It's funny because with all the news surrounding the NJ Gov. the storm has been pushed to the back burner on the main news sites! Well, at least here in Tampa Bay we think the storm is a bigger story!
We'll keep you guys updated!
