August 25 2012

Wow, what a great time. It was fantastic meeting some of you at the DisMeet. But, wish it was a little more structured as some in the past have been. Anyway, luckily my kids were able to meet some great kids and basically spent the entire cruise with them. A big shout out to the Dier family who my kids stalked...:rotfl:

I also want to thank everyone for the great FE gifts. It was our first time involved in it and it was great. My kids loved coming back to the room everyday and finding goodies in our goody bag. Plus, my wife loved it because she knew exactly where our room was.

Our servers were great. Not one bad thing I can say about them. Our room hostess was unbelievable. Always on top of everything. We were lucky to have her.

We also book a dummy cruise for next August but doubtful we will take that. Can't wait to go on DCL #7...

The only 'bad' thing about the mickey bars was that they were in wrappers with the nutritional info on them ... 330 calories each. :scared1:

Kamisha and Julia were great indeed, the other one, not as much, maybe just in comparison though. So it wasn't just me who singled the other two out as superlative?

The master baths of the walt and roy are set up totally different, don't know why. There is no window to the outside in the roy master bath.

no, not just you. She was nice enough, we just couldn't figure out what she did. Made the tipping situation more difficult for us.

And didn't you know that all cruise food has no calories?! Well, that is what I told myself. Tomorrow when I get on the scale will probably say differently!

Strange about the bathrooms. I wish I could have strolled a little more around the Walt, but was already getting the evil eye from the stateroom attendant!

Welcome back everyone. Sounds like you all had a nice trip.

Did anyone happen to record the See Ya Real soon show from Friday night? I really need to get a copy of it from this sailing. Anyone?

Thank you again.

I asked Julia how it worked and she explained that the concierge tip is pooled equally between them.

In retrospect, maybe it's better to bring cash to tip the concierge staff individually as you see fit. They may all be nice but it's likely you will have more or less interactions with specific individuals.

Back now from a couple of days in DisneyWorld following our cruise...

Wow - what a noticeable and disappointing experience it was to stay in even a deluxe WDW resort after having spent a week on the Fantasy...! The Beach Club appeared very run-down in comparison, and nothing in either the hotel or the parks even came close to approaching the impeccable standards that were on display on the ship...

Not to say that we didn't have fun in Disneyworld, but my daughter would definitely rather take another cruise than go back to the parks for our next trip...

I hope everyone had a great cruise - we didn't make it to the meetup on embarkation day, but I'm sure we saw a number of you around the ship and would recognize you... I was surprised how many faces we got to know just from seeing people walking around, both on the ship and on the islands...

We're just starting to recover too. Our flight got in at 9 last night. Thanks everyone for the thoughtful gifts. Our girls loved coming back to the room and seeing new things. They also loved delivering the gifts too. Thanks to whoever had the hint to organize by section of the ship.

Our main server was wonderful and the kids loved her. Our assistant server was ok at first and got better as time went on. He forgot a few things on the first few days. We also had a server in training who was terrific. He wore a little ribbon saying "Earning My Ears". Everyone loved him and we all cheered for him at breakfast yesterday when he showed up with no red ribbon. We were not crazy about all of the food but whenever anyone said anything the servers insisted on getting us something different. Our stateroom host was great too - he was always there when we needed him and kept our rooms perfect.

We were a little nervous about the weather but I don't think I've ever been on a cruise with better weather.

Now back to reality.

Thank you so much for including us, my Granddaughter LOVED the earrings.. She hasn't taken them off yet, it was a nice surprise and so thoughtful!

At Double Tree DTD till Tuesday. At Universal today & tomorrow. Had to take DH to see Harry Potter. Only Universal tickets this trip. Not enough time to do WDW too.

We stayed at DoubleTree Universal Main Gate the day before the cruise, just to do Harry Potter! It's it wonderful? We walked over to Universal in about 10 mins from the hotel. It's fun to enjoy a few days in MCO after the cruise. Softens the blow of the cruise being over.

We stayed at the BC after the cruise until Monday. Going to WDW after the cruise is the best way to get over the let down of not being on the cruise.

This was by far the best cruise we were ever on. We met lots of great people and have many fantastic memories.

Glad your granddaughter liked the earrings. It was great bumping into you and your family everywhere we went. Hope you continue to do well.

Ditto this being the best cruise we have been on. It was very nice meeting you. I wish I could have shown you the tweaks to the Roy compared to the Dream. Keep in touch.

Hi all! Thank you to all the FE givers! We really enjoyed the FE and would do it again. Hope all enjoyed what we gave.

We enjoyed the cruise and would go on the Fantasy again, but not in a cabin as forward as we were. We thought the dining rooms food was just ok. Most was bland, cool when should have been much hotter, and we had a forgettable wait staff. How could our waiter think when I said I would like a cup of tea with my dessert that meant a long wait for the dessert and no tea? Forgot my salad and brought it with my entree. Would not ask for that team again.

Kids liked St. T so much they want to vacation there.

We dd 2 nights at WDW after the cruise, so after a very hectic vacation we are back to reality. And we would do it again.

Yes, it was nice meeting you too. Sending a PM.

So Sarah comes over and sits next to me on the couch and says, "so when are we going on our next vacation?" :rotfl2:

We actually booked the 6/29/13 7 day Fantasy Eastern last October. I didn't think we were going to keep the reservation but after last week's fantastic cruise that appears to be changing. Woo Hoo! :cool1:

We also booked a placeholder for 2014 so anyone who wants to do this again there may be quite a few of us doing the same.

We have a placeholder also and are hoping for a good looking itinerary this same week in August 2014.

We were talking about 8/17/14 instead of 8/24/14 since we want to spend more time in WDW after the cruise.

we're thinking of the same week as well or possibly one week earlier. Originally planning to not cruise again until then, but may do either 2 shorter or a B2B before then. I'm even considering going in Jan without hubby. :rotfl2:

I like the way Sarah thinks! :thumbsup2

We have a deposit for Fantasy eastern July 13th 2013 - I moved to this after I secured my 2 weeks of summer vacation for next year. When the 2014 dates come out, I may either move my deposit, or pick up a new one, not sure yet.

It was our first trip. really enjoyed meeting everyone. We cant wait till our next cruise. Thinking of doing the same again in 2014, or the week before.

I was thinking about the 8/17/2014 cruise too. This year, free dining came out starting August 25. I too would like to spend more time at WDW after the cruise. It was so nice to be eating a late lunch at Epcot the day we disembarked. We checked in at SOG by 10am and were in Epcot by 10:30am. A great way to not get sad about the cruise ending.

Thank you everyone for the great FE gifts:thumbsup2 I missed the DIS meet touring the ship with my family and lost track of time:(

On the first day. We were the group with the Lime green shirts with the Fantasy on the front and joker goofy on the back:)

The crew gave us a lot of compliments for the design.

We booked a dummy date and intend to go on the Western itinerary in August of 2014.

Phillyfans... it was great to meet you and your family. Go Eagles:thumbsup2

It was great meeting you was well, Go Eagles!!!
