August 25, 2012 Magic in NYC!!!!

Now that we are getting closer to the trip...just wanted to get an idea of how many people living near NYC would like to come to our wine shop for a pre-cruise wine tasting/meet & greet (kids can come too and meet some new friends)...we are located in White Plains, NY.. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

For those of you on this cruise I just wanted to make sure you saw this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2920246

If you are already booked on this sailing through Dreams Unlimited Travel you are automatically entered into any special party/event/giveaway we are doing on the sailing.

For more details please email your Dreams Unlimited Travel agent or DCL.Reservations@DreamsUnlimitedTrave.com

That's so funny, you always seem to be doing that on the same cruises we are going on (at least I was told much the same thing happened on our last cruise, the 11/5/28 Med, is that right?).
Seems like we have great taste in choosing our cruise dates :thumbsup2

We are not booked with DU (notorious self-bookers here) so won't see any of the action probably, but will be sure to follow your posts on the DIS group on Facebook about it!

If we booked ourselves, can we transfer the ressie and be a part of the fun?

I was wondering if can past Dreams clients can participate as well?:confused3
I had booked direct with DCL, and being a concierge guest I have already paid my balance in full, so it's too late to transfer the reservation.

Does anyone know how easy it is to get a car rental at Port Canaveral for our day in Orlando/WDW?

I have a fear that since we are first-time cruisers, the earlier buses will fill up quickly. I am thinking it may be easier (and more time-efficient) for my family of four to get a rental and drive ourselves to and from....

Any thoughts?

Thanks to all in advance!

You can go on line to any major travel web site and plug in your dates with the pickup and drop off zone cape or port canaveral. Hertz, thrifty and budget, seem to be the only ones available. Also you'd need to make sure that there's no problem returning after hours.
But I'm sure you can get the complimentary transportation to the parks at an early hour. I wouldn't worry. Look at it this way the majority of Disney world theme park goers don't want to get up early enough to enter the parks before 10am.
If you want you could reserve a car now just in case, and then when your booking window opens and you get your DCL bus ride to the park, then cancel the car.
Keep us updated, it will be interesting to see what times would still be available.
Also not as many first time, second time etc Disney cruisers are as savy as you to get their info off the Disboards.
Plus when I booked I got the 6.30am bus to Magic Kingdom and DCL did not ask at the time when I wanted to return. So I think the return times may be left open pre cruise.

Thanks for the input.
I did find trouble with rental car places not being open by the time we would return (approximately 10:00ish).
While I await our official registration (June 11), my MIL, who has a lot of business connections, will be securing us a car service for the way to the parks - and I'm sure we shouldn't have a problem returning on the bus.

Otherwise, will keep everyone posted otherwise.

Does anyone have an itinerary on 'theme' evenings - pirate night, dress up night, etc?

As soon as we celebrate my daughter's birthday (May 22nd)....I will be full throttle on planning our first DC!! I am sure I will have other questions regarding excursions at Nassau! ^_^

I pulled up my reservation. The only thing indicated is that Pirate Night is Night 4, after Nassau.

Speaking of Pirate Night ... Who is dressing up for Pirate Night? Anyone? I also asked this on our FB page.

I'll be a pirate as always on that night.

I had called Disney regarding this and the reason they want to know what bus you are taking and when is so they can have the right number available. It is not working like they only have a certain number of buses leaving at certain times and when they fill that time isn't available. You will get the bus at the time you want.

I posted info on theme nights earlier...but I believe night 2 is formal night and I want to say night 6 is semi formal, but go back over the posts and see what I said previously...pirate night is naussau night...it says on the ressie

this is what you had posted on facebook a few weeks ago....."the night we leave Naussau is pirate night...2nd night is formal night and the 7th night is semi formal"
