August 23-30, 2003 "Welcome Home Fellow Cruisers--Trip Report Completed"

Hi,

We plan on doing the scuba on St. Thomas and St Maarten.. We will probably book through DCL as this is our first time. Dh will be celebrating his 39th b'day on the cruise.

hi aamom!

is your husband's birthday the same as any of ours? 25, 26 or 28?
i'm sure we'll book through DCL too, it seems easiest. i think my husband and i would like to try to scuba, but my son is not really into swimming that much. i'm thinking right now i may leave him in the children's program when we are in port, i'm sure he'd enjoy that much more than running around in town and on the beach. i'd like to shop a little in port too, so we'll try to do all we can!

Lisa,

I got my PassPorter two months ago, I'm not much of what you would call a reader, but I went through mine in two days.

I spent about every free minute I had reading it, cover to cover!!!

Andy

That will be me, as soon as it arrives. My husband laughs at me, but i get really excited about things like this, i'm glad i'm not the only one!!

These boards are great, for downtimes at work. you can get alot of planning done!

Hey Folks:

I know I'm new here and should be patient and read through all the messages to see if there are answers there, but I can't!!!:Pinkbounc

What is the PassPorter and how do I order it? Should I call my travel agent?

I've traveled on Royal Caribbean twice and they sent a package about 6 weeks before travel with info on the excursions and things. Is that what the PassPorter is? I have been itching to see what's available.

thanks and I apologize for my impatience :)

Welcome Aboard the Aug. 23rd Cruise. I have to leave to go back to work, but I'll try to answer as quick as I can. I ordered my PassPorter through PassPorter.com, I know some others have ordered from different places, such as Amazon.com and B&N, but I received my PassPorter in three days directly from PassPorter.

Lunchtime over and have to get back to work!!!

onemomo2,

you're welcome! i hope our kids enjoy meeting up too, kyle's very excited about going on the cruise and meeting new friends. He'll be turning 11 that week. This site has been the best source of information for me, and i'm really enoying reading through all the threads.

Hopefully our Passporters will come soon, and then we can enjoy reading those as well!

What an exciting afternoon we have had around our house today.

Let me first start by saying that I made a copy of the Travel Channel DCL episode for my Dmom that will be on the cruise with us. She watched the tape this morning with my 28 year old Dniece. My Dniece was so impressed with the video that she told my Dmom that she would love to go on a Disney Cruise someday.

Dmom called my DW, and DW called me on my cell at work. I told DW to call Dniece back and if she was really interested that much, I would see what I could do to get her on our cruise.

When I arrived home DW called Member Services and we got the ball rolling for Dniece to join us. By now my DD 12 was beaming from ear to ear. DD and Dniece are very close, even though they are 16 years apart.

After nearly 45 minutes on the phone, we were able to get our Dniece added on, but being the "loving" yet humble Uncle I am,
I gave up my Cat. 5 stateroom(with Verandah) for two Cat. 9 staterooms. Our new staterooms will be 2554 and 2556. So now, Verandah Man is verandahless, what I don't do for my kin!!!

We have some new families to add to our ever growing DIS'er list, onemomo2 is part of a large group, lets welcome them all.

Onemomo2, would you be interested in our DISmeet that we are planning? Looks like we will be meeting after the muster(life jacket drill) on deck 9 behind Topsiders on Saturday.

Verandah Man

sorry you "lost" the verandah- but it was for a good cause.

It looks like quite a crew we have going:) Again, thanks for all your organization and lists.

Less than four months to go. I don't know if I can last that long. We had SNOW   this morning. I need a cruise now, especially after watching the Travel Channel show. Both dd's are now as excited as me:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Question about dinner time?

What seating do people have- especially those with kids ages 9 and 7? We have late seating, with a waitlist for early. After reading these boards, I am inclined to take us off the waitlist. But before I take us of the list I want to make sure that all the kids aren't on the opposite schedule. hope that makes sense.

We have a late seating, my son does not have a problem staying up late, we'll have a problem getting him to sleep at all, i'm sure!

Late seating here as well. At first we requested early dining because we usually eat dinner around 4pm at home. We were put on the waitlist for early dining, but called and cancelled the waitlist after reading posts here on the boards.

Attention August 23rd Cruisers

If you would like me to add your dining time to our ever growing list, please reply to this post and I will make the changes. My family is now a group of five with late dining, our ages range from DD 12, Dniece 28, me 48, DW 49, and Dmom 67, if anyone would like to share a table with us, let me know. We would need to give DCL our ressie numbers so that we would be seated together. Thanks!!! Andy

Verandah Man - Yes, I'd like to meet up with you all. I can't promise my whole crew. They're coming from all over (VA, MD & CA) and don't want to plan for them, but I'll be there! I'm just sorry it's almost 4 months to go.

Don't feel bad about giving up the verandah, you know it was worth it! Just think of the memories you'll be able to include her in.

We're booked for the early dinner. I chose the early since we have so many kids and I was worried that they'd be too hungry by the late (staying up late won't be a problem for them). It looks like all of you are on the late. I'll have to see what the rest of my party thinks. I'm sure there will be plenty available to snack on in between.

Can't wait! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Verandah man... you'll need to add another mouse girl to your signature!!
